Rasheed Sulaimon bounces in late 3 to let Duke escape Virginia

If No. 23 Duke turns its season back around and starts playing like a Final Four contender again, the Blue Devils might credit the final few seconds of Monday night's game as a big reason why.

Duke beat Virginia 69-65 after Rasheed Sulaimon bounced in the go-ahead 3-pointer with 18.8 seconds left.

No. 22 Pitt beats Ga Tech; still perfect in ACC

Pittsburgh just kept coming, in waves, furiously pounding the boards.

In no time at all, the 22nd-ranked Panthers have put their stamp on the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Talib Zanna scored 22 points, James Robinson added 16 and Pittsburgh pulled away in the second half, remaining perfect in the ACC with a bruising 81-74 victory over Georgia Tech on Tuesday night.

No. 2 Syracuse escapes scare from Pitt, reaches 18-0

Ennis, the freshman point guard who would rather pass than shoot, scored 16 points, including two driving layups and two free throws in the final 2 minutes, and the second-ranked Orange rallied past No. 22 Pittsburgh 59-54 on Saturday in a battle for first place in the ACC between the two former Big East rivals.

No. 20 Pittsburgh rebounds from Syracuse loss by routing Clemson

Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon watched his team melt down in the final moments in a loss at No. 2 Syracuse over the weekend and wondered how the Panthers, who he insists are still finding themselves, would respond.

"Is there going to be carryover? Are you going to be down?" Dixon asked. "I was concerned about that. But they looked more angry than disappointed."

    Dominant too.

Talib Zanna scored 22 points on near-flawless shooting and the 20th-ranked Panthers drilled Clemson 76-43 on Tuesday night.

Jabari Parker's 17 points, 15 rebounds power No. 18 Duke over Miami

With 3½ minutes left and Duke trying to close out its first road win in the conference this season, superstar spectator LeBron James was on his feet -- to leave.

The Blue Devils made it routine. Freshman Jabari Parker had 17 points and a season-high 15 rebounds Wednesday to lead No. 18 Duke past Miami 67-46.

Syracuse rides strong defense to win at Miami

With Syracuse and Miami going at it zone to zone, the Orange made the last stand.

No. 2 Syracuse held Miami without a field goal for 7 1/2 minutes down the stretch and made eight consecutive free throws in the final minute to remain unbeaten with a 64-52 victory Saturday.

Mike Krzyzewski wins 900th game as Duke coach

Duke didn't shoot the ball well nor did it have one of its big runs against Florida State.

Rather, the 18th-ranked Blue Devils gave their Hall of Fame coach a milestone win by aggressively crashing the glass, converting on turnovers and cashing in at the free-throw line.

Rodney Hood scored 18 points to help Duke beat Florida State 78-56 on Saturday, giving Mike Krzyzewski his 900th victory in his 34th season at the school.

No. 20 Pittsburgh defeats Maryland 83-79

There will be times this season when Pittsburgh will win on the strength of its outside shooting or its suffocating defense.

Neither of those qualities was required against Maryland on Saturday night. Instead, the 20th-ranked Panthers relied on their inside game and the prowess of guard Lamar Patterson to squeeze out an 83-79 victory.

Jabari Parker's 21 help Duke win fifth straight

The Pittsburgh student section spent a full hour before Monday night's game against Duke trying to get into the Blue Devils' heads.

They roared during warmups, cheering every missed jump shot. They shook the stands during player introductions. They let out a year's worth of anticipation every time someone dressed in blue touched the ball during a raucous opening 10 minutes.

Playing Duke is new for Pitt. Playing the role of the bad guy is nothing new for the Blue Devils.

Jabari Parker scored 21 points, Andre Dawkins tied a season-high with 20 and No. 17 Duke pulled away from the 18th-ranked Panthers 80-65.

No. 2 Syracuse pulls away to beat Wake Forest, stay undefeated

Only two Syracuse teams have won their first 20 games, and C.J. Fair has been a member of both.

This current one, he says, is "a hard-fought 20-game winning streak."

Not much came easy during the Orange's latest victory.

No. 2 Syracuse matched the best start in program history Wednesday night, pulling away to beat Wake Forest 67-57 behind a strong second half from freshman Tyler Ennis.

No. 2 Syracuse beats No. 17 Duke in OT to remain unbeaten

Coach K said he hoped this game would live up to its billing. It did, and then some.

Jerami Grant scored eight points in overtime to finish with a career-high 24 and Jim Boeheim's No. 2 Syracuse stayed unbeaten, topping Mike Krzyzewski's No. 17 Duke 91-89 on Saturday in a matchup of the two winningest coaches in Division I history.

Malcolm Brogdon's last-second lifts Virginia over No. 18 Pitt

Virginia coach Tony Bennett installed a new play late last month for end-of-game situations, but he didn't have much confidence in it.

Maybe Malcolm Brogdon was saving himself for a big moment.

"We run that play a lot and we never make it in practice," Bennett said. "I guess it's better to make it in a game."

Brogdon came off screen and drained a 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds remaining to lift the visiting Cavaliers to a 48-45 victory.

    Trevor Cooney's career-high 33 keep No. 1 Syracuse perfect

Trevor Cooney has hit shooting touch back -- just in the nick of time for top-ranked Syracuse.

Cooney scored a career-high 33 points, matching a school record with nine 3-pointers, and the Orange beat Notre Dame 61-55 on Monday night in another matchup of former Big East foes.

Jabari Parker carries No. 11 Duke past Wake Forest

No. 11 Duke burned through a lot of emotional energy a few days ago in its loss at Syracuse.

The Blue Devils still had plenty left to take care of Wake Forest.

Jabari Parker scored 21 points in Duke's 83-63 rout of the Demon Deacons on Tuesday night.

No. 20 Virginia Cavaliers handles Boston College 77-67

With a lead that grew to 21 points early in the second half, Malcolm Brogdon never expected to have to make meaningful free throws at the end for No. 20 Virginia against Boston College on Wednesday night.

That he did was part credit to the Eagles, and part Virginia going into cruise control too early.
"I think we did just a little bit and that's as soon as they started getting shots up and making shots," Brogdon said after he had 17 points, a career-best 11 rebounds and seven assists in the Cavaliers' 77-67 victory.

Pittsburgh thwarts Miami in overtime behind Lamar Patterson

Lamar Patterson came up with a big basket to help send the game to overtime. When overtime came, he took over.

Patterson scored 10 of his 25 points in overtime to help No. 25 Pittsburgh end a two-game losing streak with a 59-55 victory over Miami on Wednesday night.

Jabari Parker put on a show for both college and NBA fans in Boston.

The freshman sensation set career highs with 29 points and 16 rebounds, Quinn Cook hit five 3-pointers and scored 21 points, and No. 11 Duke coasted to an 89-68 win over Boston College on Saturday night.

No. 20 Virginia finishes on 22-1 run to pound Georgia Tech

Malcolm Brogdon had a wonderful homecoming.

Virginia's third-year guard, who grew up in an Atlanta suburb, scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the 20th-ranked Cavaliers 64-45 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday.

No. 25 Pitt beats Virginia Tech in 2 overtimes

Virginia Tech held Pitt senior Lamar Patterson without a point in regulation. The Hokies won the rebounding battle by 15 and held the 25th-ranked Panthers to 37 percent shooting. On most days that would be enough to pull an upset on the road, but the Panthers made some big plays late in regulation and escaped with a 62-57 victory in double overtime.
