Been hearing a ridiculous amount of hype for this place, all word of mouth. Apparently its as good as advertised. Gotta try it some time. I work a few blocks from the Ferry Building but I never have a reason to stay downtown for dinner.
Never had commercial hummus and pita as good as my own. Best orange juice, freshly squeezed organic OJ at Berkeley Bowl market. As to why it took a sabbatical to get to Slanted Door, that was part of my sabbatical, to go to restaurants. I went there as part of my morning in the Ferry Building. I rarely schlep over to SF just to eat. As to what I had: duck confit salad, pork noodles (rice noodles, very fresh bean sprouts, meat 3 ways, braised loin, fried belly, minced in spring rolls, dipping sauce), really good tea, and an ice cream sandwich of premium ice cream between two freshly baked still warm snickerdoodles. Very simple & good. GOD, black holes are also not holes. You are having some holy problems. Orlando is the best cat in the world. And he's only going to be around a few more months, having been diagnosed with congestive heart failure.
