BIG EAST Announces 2013-14 Men's Basketball Conference Schedule
    [IMG]

Each team will play an 18-game schedule, marking the first time since 1994-1995 that the league will feature a full double round-robin format.
A New Year's Eve marathon will feature all 10 teams, including the first BIG EAST home games for the conference's newest members: Butler, Creighton and Xavier. The marathon will tip off with St. John's at Xavier at noon ET, followed by Seton Hall at Providence at 2:30, DePaul at Georgetown at 5:00, Villanova at Butler at 7:30 and Marquette at Creighton at 10:00.

FOX Sports 1 will air A SUPER SATURDAY HOOPS doubleheader, featuring Marquette vs. St. John's and Michigan State vs. Georgetown, live from Madison Square Garden, on February 1, the eve of Super Bowl XLVIII in the New York/New Jersey region.

The quest for the 2013-14 BIG EAST regular season crown will conclude with four games on Saturday, March 8 - Georgetown at Villanova, Providence at Creighton, St. John's at Marquette and Seton Hall at Butler.

The BIG EAST Championship, one of the elite events in all of college sports, is college basketball's longest running conference tournament at the same venue. The 10-team tourney will begin with a first-round doubleheader on Wednesday, March 12. Two quarterfinal doubleheaders will be played Thursday afternoon and evening, March 13, followed by a semifinal doubleheader Friday, March 14 and the championship game Saturday, March 15.

In addition to the Tuesday night showcase on FOX Sports 1, fans will be able to enjoy BIG EAST basketball on virtually every day of the conference season in January and February, including multiple games each Saturday. Other than December 31, all 10 teams will play on the same day only once, Saturday, Jan. 25.

FOX Sports 1 will air 108 regular-season games, and an additional 9 tournament games. FOX Sports 2 will air 12 games. (To find the channel location for FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 on local distributors, use the channel locator at http://msn.foxsports.com/.)

CBS Sports Network will air 18 games, and 2 additional games will air on CBS Sports.

FOX Sports Network will air up to 18 games regionally. FOX Sports (FBC) will televise one game featuring BIG EAST teams.

    CU new court design

On Wednesday, Creighton will be putting out a new standard logo. They are building this up as a big event to go along with the basketball open house at the CenturyLink Center. For those still learning about the Bluejays, here is a wonderful breakdown of the history of the Creighton logo and its use over the years.

Georgetown beats No. 10 VCU in game with 61 fouls

Georgetown began its four-day trip to San Juan thinking about a humbling loss after a second-half collapse against Northeastern.

But after back-to-back hard-fought wins, the Hoyas are returning home feeling good about the team they can potentially become this season.

D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera had 26 points and Georgetown fought off Virginia Commonwealth in the second half to hang on for an 84-80 victory in the fifth-place game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Sunday.

Arizona State takes down No. 25 Marquette with block at buzzer

Jordan Bachynski saw the play developing and slid across the lane, reaching out just as the ball hit the apex.

With one big swat, Arizona State's massive center kept the Sun Devils undefeated.

Bachynski had his sixth straight double-double and swatted Derrick Wilson's runner at the buzzer for his seventh block, helping Arizona State knock off No. 25 Marquette 79-77 on Monday night.

McDermott scores 27 as No. 20 Creighton beats ASU

Creighton knows how to learn from its mistakes.

The Bluejays took an early lead over Arizona State in the championship game of last year's Las Vegas Invitational, only to watch the Sun Devils creep back into contention. This time, Creighton didn't give ASU that opportunity.

Doug McDermott scored 27 points, Devin Brooks added a season-high 23 and the 20th-ranked Bluejays beat Arizona State 88-60 on Thursday night in the opening round of the Wooden Legacy.

Villanova stuns No. 2 Kansas on late 3-pointer

Ryan Arcidiacono had not made a shot all night. So naturally, he was Jay Wright's choice on the play that wound up deciding Villanova's fate.

And it was the right choice.

Arcidiacono's 3-pointer with 10.1 seconds left put Villanova on top for good, and the Wildcats upset No. 2 Kansas 63-59 in the semifinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis on Friday night.
