Travis Trice received a text message Sunday from Golden State Warriors forward and former Michigan State player Draymond Green that read: "Don't let this be your last game."

The Spartans' senior guard texted back, "It won't."

Trice made sure of that Sunday, scoring 23 points and helping Michigan State knock second-seeded Virginia out of the NCAA tournament for the second straight year 60-54.

Wisconsin wasn't at its best against Oregon. Fortunately for the Badgers, they didn't have to be to earn a return trip to the Sweet 16.

The Badgers beat the Ducks for the second straight year in the NCAA tournament's round of 32, this time 72-65 at CenturyLink Center on Sunday night.

Wisconsin looked like a beaten team for much of the game.

Frank Kaminsky got off to a slow start, and his team couldn't make a shot in the first half and then fell behind by seven midway through the second.

It looked like a repeat of the Big Ten Conference title game, in which the Badgers were left for road kill against Michigan State before coming back to win in overtime.

The top-seeded Badgers again proved their grit, rallying in the final 10 minutes to hold off North Carolina 79-72 on Thursday night and advance to the final eight of the NCAA tournament.

No. 15 Hoosiers cruise past Eastern Illinois 88-49 in opener

No. 15 Indiana got off to a perfect start Friday night.

It pushed the tempo, dominated the middle and pulled away -- just like coach Tom Crean drew it up.

James Blackmon Jr. scored 17 points and Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell added 13, leading the new-look Hoosiers to an 88-49 victory over Eastern Illinois.

No. 13 Michigan State beats Florida Atlantic 82-55 in opener

Matt Costello's career has been underwhelming for a former Mr. Basketball winner in Michigan, averaging just four points and three rebounds over his first three seasons.

It looks as if he might be ready for a big senior year.

Costello had 15 points, two shy of his career high, and seven rebounds, leading the 13th-ranked Spartans to an 82-55 victory over Florida Atlantic on Friday night.

No. 25 Michigan beats Division II Northern Michigan 70-44

Caris LeVert's return makes things quite a bit easier for Michigan coach John Beilein.

"It's not like you're wracking your brain, trying to find ways to score," Beilein said. "He helps you a lot in that area."

LeVert scored 18 points, and No. 25 Michigan led from the start against Division II Northern Michigan, cruising to a 70-44 victory Friday night. LeVert and Derrick Walton were playing for the first time since January after missing much of the Big Ten schedule last season with injuries.

Cline, No. 23 Purdue cruise past North Carolina A&T 81-40

With plenty of size on the interior and several perimeter shooters, No. 23 Purdue can score in a variety of ways.

    Just ask North Carolina A&T.

Kendall Stephens and Ryan Cline each made four 3-pointers, and the Boilermakers beat the Aggies 81-40 on Friday night in the Naismith Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic.

Mathias, Haas lead No. 23 Purdue over Vermont 107-79

With two 7-footers and 6-9 McDonald's All-America Caleb "Biggie" Swanigan, No. 23 Purdue has the potential to dominate the interior.

But through two games, including Sunday's 107-79 victory over Vermont in the Naismith Hall of Fame Tipoff, it has been the Boilermakers' uncanny 3-point shooting that has been even more impressive than their big men.

Ferrell leads No. 14 Indiana past Austin Peay 102-76

Indiana lost track of The Streak on Monday night.

    It was easy to do.

On a night five players scored in double figures, the 14th-ranked Hoosiers took control by making 15 consecutive baskets in the second half and ran away from Austin Peay, 102-76.

No. 7 Iowa State rolls past Chicago State 106-64

Jameel McKay struggled on offense in Iowa State's opener. He responded by dunking his way to the best scoring night of his career.

McKay set a new personal mark with 25 points -- the majority coming on dunks -- and had 11 rebounds as No. 7 Iowa State rolled past Chicago State 106-64 Monday night in coach Steve Prohm's home debut.

Robinson shines for No. 24 Michigan in 88-68 win over Elon

When Duncan Robinson transferred to Michigan from Division III Williams, he faced a challenging adjustment to a different level of basketball.

One thing is clear: He can make open shots.

In fact, Robinson made every shot he took Monday night, scoring 19 points to lead the 24th-ranked Wolverines to an 88-68 victory over Elon. Robinson hit all six of his field goal attempts -- including five from 3-point range -- and two free throws.

Denzel Valentine lifts No. 13 MSU over No. 4 Kansas with triple-double

Denzel Valentine joined some pretty elite company in Michigan State basketball history.

The senior guard had 29 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists for the 13th triple-double in Spartans' history, and No. 13 Michigan State rallied for a 79-73 victory over No. 4 Kansas on Tuesday in the Champions Classic.

Trimble scores 24 as No. 3 Maryland edges Georgetown 75-71

Besides getting a heck of a scare and barely avoiding a painful defeat at home, No. 3 Maryland greatly benefited from the renewal of its series with neighborhood rival Georgetown.

The Terrapins were pressed to the limit before Rasheed Sulaimon hit a 3-pointer with 1:18 left to break a tie, enabling Maryland to escape with a 75-71 victory Tuesday night.

Hot-shooting 1st half carries No. 21 Purdue to easy victory

With two talented 7-footers and 6-9 McDonald's All-American Caleb Swanigan, No. 21 Purdue is a difficult team to play against.

Outmanned Incarnate Word learned that quickly Wednesday night, when the a Boilermakers set a school record for rebounding margin in a 96-61 victory in the Tipoff Hall of Fame game.

No. 14 Indiana takes easy route past Creighton 86-65

Thomas Bryant enjoyed playing the middle man Thursday night.

Indiana's highly touted freshman dominated the post on offense, grabbed rebounds and blocked shots on defense and had just as much fun setting up his teammates.

On a night James Blackmon Jr. scored 19 points, Bryant stole the show with a resounding 17-point, seven-rebound performance that helped No. 14 Indiana rout Creighton 86-65.
