No. 3 Indiana runs routs Mississippi Valley State 85-52

OG Anunoby wasn't a factor when No.3 Indiana lost in overtime at IPFW

The sophomore played only 13 minutes, leaving because of an illness -- and leaving the Hoosiers (4-1) without one of their best, most relied on playmakers.

"I don't think any of us understood how sick he was, because he didn't even practice again until part of the time on Friday," Indiana coach Tom Crean said. "But the bottom line is, we didn't have the right edge (against IPFW)."

On Sunday night, the Hoosiers had that edge, and they were led by a healthy Anunoby. He scored a career-high 21 points and had eight rebounds, leading the Hoosiers to an 85-52 victory over Mississippi Valley State.

Hayes scores 28 as No. 17 Wisconsin blows by Oklahoma

Wisconsin coach Greg Gard says what makes Nigel Hayes and the Badgers play at their best is one in the same -- how far the 6-foot-8 forward is from the basket.

And with Hayes working largely from 18 feet and in, he scored a season-high 28 points Saturday as No. 17 Wisconsin shook off a slow start and blew past Oklahoma 90-70.

No. 15 Purdue uses 3-pointers to beat Morehead State 90-56

If No. 15 Purdue continues to shoot 3-pointers with the accuracy it did Saturday against Morehead State, the Boilermakers will have the potential for a special season.

Freshman guard Carsen Edwards scored 16 points, and Purdue made 15 of 29 attempts from 3-point range -- 11 in the first half -- on the way to a 90-56 victory.

No. 17 Wisconsin routs Idaho State for 4th straight win

Coming off a difficult early season stretch, playing in front of a tepid home crowd and with final exams looming, the conditions were almost in place for No. 17 Wisconsin to suffer a letdown Wednesday night.

Only one thing was missing: a worthy opponent.

Bronson Koenig scored 21 points, Ethan Happ had 12 points and 12 rebounds, and the Badgers rolled past Idaho State 78-44.

Peter Jok scores 23, Iowa upsets No. 25 Iowa State 78-64

Iowa State spent the last 61 weeks in the Top 25.

After getting crushed by Iowa, the Cyclones' run as a ranked team is likely finished.

Peter Jok scored 23 points and the Hawkeyes upset 25th-ranked Iowa State 78-64 on Thursday night, snapping a three-game losing skid against its instate rival.

Swanigan's 26 points lead No. 15 Purdue past No. 21 ND

Caleb Swanigan wanted to change Purdue's image. So after losing their first two games against ranked opponents this season, the sophomore forward took matters into his own hands.

Swanigan scored half of his 26 points in the second half to lead No. 15 Purdue past No. 21 Notre Dame 86-81 on Saturday.

Anunoby leads No. 16 Indiana to 103-56 rout of Delaware St

OG Anunoby gave No. 16 Indiana a jolt of energy, and the Hoosiers got themselves back in sync.

On a night when Anunoby had 19 points and nine rebounds, three of his teammates also reached double figures to help Indiana rout Delaware State 103-56 on Monday.

Swanigan helps No. 15 Purdue beat Western Illinois 82-50

Isaac Haas enjoys playing alongside Caleb Swanigan on Purdue's imposing front line, and it's easy to see why.

"It's demoralizing for the other team when (Swanigan) is out there doing what he does," the 7-foot-2 Haas said.

Swanigan had 21 points and a career-best 21 rebounds, Haas scored 18 points and the 15th-ranked Boilermakers beat Western Illinois 82-50 on Monday night.

    Swanigan's 32 points, 20 rebounds lead No. 15. Purdue

It's probably Purdue sophomore forward Caleb Swanigan's final college season, but for now, Boilermakers coach Matt Painter is enjoying this likely future NBA player.

Swanigan had a career-best 32 points and 20 rebounds -- his fourth consecutive double-double -- and No. 15 Purdue defeated Norfolk State 91-45 on Wednesday night, the Boilermakers' sixth straight victory.

Nigel Hayes leads way, No. 14 Wisconsin beats Rutgers 72-52

Zak Showalter's scrappy play can get overshadowed by the star power of No. 14 Wisconsin.

But Showalter might have just as important a role as Nigel Hayes, Bronson Koenig and Ethan Happ on a team with designs on another deep NCAA Tournament run, especially if a guard known for hustle and defensive intensity keeps scoring in double digits.

Hayes scored 20 points, Showalter added a season-high 18 and the Badgers used an active start on the defensive end to build an early lead and defeat Rutgers 72-52 on Tuesday night.

Mason's 31 lead Minnesota to victory at No. 15 Purdue

Nate Mason made sure it was a very special weekend in Indiana for the Pitino family -- son Richard, who is the Minnesota coach, and father Rick, the Louisville coach.

Mason contributed 31 points, 11 assists and six rebounds on Sunday, and Minnesota pulled away in overtime for a 91-82 Big Ten victory against No, 15 Purdue in Mackey Arena.

    Hot-shooting Badgers blitz Ohio State

Ohio State coach Thad Matta watched Wisconsin's loss to Purdue and wondered the chances the Badgers would shoot that way again.

    Turns out not great.

The 18th-ranked Badgers bounced back from that poor performance four days earlier to blitz Ohio State 89-66 on Thursday night as they shot 49 percent from the field and a season-best 55 percent from the 3-point line.

Jok, Iowa upend No. 17 Purdue 83-78

Purdue knew the Hawkeyes would be looking for payback after it blasted Iowa in the Big Ten opener.

The Hawkeyes got back at the Boilermakers by beating them at their own game.

Peter Jok scored 29 points with eight assists and six rebounds and Iowa rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to beat No. 17 Purdue 83-78 on Thursday night.

No. 15 Wisconsin beats Rutgers 61-54 in OT

Ethan Happ had just scored 32 of Wisconsin's 61 points and when he was done with a TV interview, the Badger fans at Madison Square Garden cheered him as he left the court waving and blowing kisses.

"It's always special to play in MSG but once you get going it turns into a basketball game," the sophomore forward said after the 15th-ranked Badgers survived a bad offensive game for a 61-54 overtime victory over Rutgers on Saturday. "But when you get a curtain call in Madison Square Garden you're not going to turn it down."

Jackson's 28 points lead No. 22 Maryland past Minnesota

Maryland still has more freshmen in the starting lineup than losses this season.

The teenage Terrapins, with age-defying poise, have begun to display the potential to top the Sweet 16 trip for last year's team.

Justin Jackson had a career-high 28 points and 10 rebounds, making all five of his 3-point attempts, and No. 22 Maryland beat Minnesota 85-78 on Saturday for its sixth straight win.
