    No. 24 Rutgers tops Nebraska 75-72 on Baker's 3-pointer

Geo Baker had struggled for nearly a month after breaking his thumb. That seemed to end Saturday with two 3-pointers in just over two minutes.

Baker hit a 3 with 1.2 seconds left to send No. 24 Rutgers past Nebraska 75-72 to raise the Scarlet Knights' home record to 14-0.

Dosunmu's shot lifts No. 21 Illinois over Michigan 64-62

As the final seconds ticked away in a tie game, Ayo Dosunmu was being guarded by Zavier Simpson, one of the top defenders in the Big Ten.

"The one thing Ayo has is 6-(foot)-5," Illinois coach Brad Underwood said.

Dosunmu took advantage of his 5-inch height edge on Simpson, sinking a contested jumper from the free throw line with 0.5 seconds remaining to give No. 21 Illinois a 64-62 victory over Michigan on Saturday. The Illini extended their winning streak to six and moved into sole possession of first place in the Big Ten for the moment.

No. 17 Maryland scores final 7 points to win at Indiana

Jalen Smith's first-half 3-point flurry helped stake Maryland to a double-digit lead. His ability to fight through Indiana's halftime adjustments kept the 17th-ranked Terrapins close in the second half. And then he finished with a flourish.

After catching a pass from Anthony Cowan Jr. in the post, the sophomore forward scored on a layup with 14.5 seconds left to cap an improbable last-minute comeback for the Terps, who beat the Hoosiers 77-76 on Sunday.

No. 11 Michigan State sweeps Minnesota with 70-52 win

Michigan State weathered another sluggish start, then wore down Minnesota.

The Spartans reasserted themselves after a rough loss, and the Gophers paid the price.

Cassius Winston had 18 points and eight assists and Xavier Tillman added 17 points and 10 rebounds, as 11th-ranked Michigan State cruised to a second victory over Minnesota in three weeks, 70-52 on Sunday.

Garza, No. 18 Iowa rally to beat Wisconsin 68-62

Iowa’s offense was sputtering, so the 18th-ranked Hawkeyes vowed to beat Wisconsin with defense.

“We knew we weren’t going to lose this game,” center Luka Garza said. “We had to string together some stops, and we would be fine.”

They did just that in a 68-62 win over the Badgers on Monday night.

No. 25 Rutgers holds on to beat Purdue 70-63

Steve Pikiell will get a reprieve from the emails about his team's poor foul shooting from disgruntled fans.

Caleb McConnell was a perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line en route to 16 points, as No. 25 Rutgers nearly blew a 17-point lead before holding off Purdue, 70-63 on Tuesday night.

Stevens leads No. 24 Penn State over Indiana

A shaky offensive start won’t doom a team that can defend like Penn State has most of this season.

It’s why Pat Chambers believes his No. 24 Nittany Lions have a chance to be something special.

Lamar Stevens scored nine of his 17 points in the second half and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Penn State over Indiana 64-49 on Wednesday night.

Cowan scores 31 as No. 15 Maryland beats No. 18 Iowa 82-72

Anthony Cowan Jr. scored, more than ever before. The senior guard also passed, played tight defense and even did a little coaching.

With Cowan leading the way, 15th-ranked Maryland beat No. 18 Iowa 82-72 Thursday night to remain unbeaten at home and in the thick of the race for first place in the Big Ten.

Wisconsin edges No. 14 Michigan State 64-63

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo talked with Wisconsin counterpart Greg Gard earlier in the week about what the Badgers were facing -- including the suspension of starter Brad Davison.

So Wisconsin's performance against the 14th-ranked Spartans didn't surprise Izzo.

"I can take a little joy in my profession that kids still rallied around (their coach)," Izzo said.

Nate Reuvers scored 15 points and D'Mitrik Trice had 14 to help Wisconsin edge the Spartans 64-63 on Saturday. The win for Wisconsin snapped an eight-game losing streak in the series against Michigan State.

Garza has 25 points, No. 18 Iowa beats No. 19 Illinois 72-65

Luka Garza is 6-foot-11 and can hit 3-pointers.

That foiled Illinois' defensive plan against the Iowa junior center.

Garza, the Big Ten's leading scorer, bounced back from a slow start to score 25 points and No. 18 Iowa clamped down in the final four minutes to beat No. 19 Illinois 72-65 on Sunday.

No. 9 Maryland holds off Rutgers 56-51 for 5th straight win

It was one of those nights when most of Maryland's shots were bouncing off the rim or spinning out of the basket. For several minutes at a time, the Terrapins went up and down the court without scoring a point.

Fortunately, No. 9 Maryland found a way to compensate for that shortcoming in a 56-51 victory over Rutgers on Tuesday night.

Livers returns, Michigan beats No. 16 Michigan State 77-68

Isaiah Livers came back just in time for Michigan's big game against its in-state rival.

The Wolverines' 3-point accuracy returned too.

Livers scored 14 points and Zavier Simpson added 16 to lift Michigan to a scrappy 77-68 victory over No. 16 Michigan State on Saturday. Livers injured his groin Dec. 21 and missed nine of the next 10 games, but he was in the starting lineup and helped the Wolverines salvage a split of the regular-season series against the Spartans. Michigan also snapped a three-game home losing streak.

Stevens' leads No. 22 Penn State over Minnesota

Lamar Stevens was celebrated as an elite scorer and a published author on Saturday.

Penn State's do-it-all forward, who wrote a children's book that was distributed to fans before No. 22 Penn State's game against Minnesota, is well on his way to authoring another story. Maybe one for the history books.

Stevens followed his pregame induction into Penn State's 2,000-point club with a career-high 33 points to lead No. 22 Penn State over Minnesota 83-77. It was the Nittany Lions' sixth-straight win and it came in front of their first sold-out crowd since 2011 -- the last time they made the NCAA Tournament.

Wieskamp and Garza help No. 17 Iowa rout Nebraska 96-72

Joe Wieskamp averaged 30 points per game in his final two high school seasons. Getting to that number in a game in college was something the Iowa sophomore guard hadn’t done in his career.

Which is why teammate Luka Garza said he was pushing him to get there on Saturday.

Wieskamp did, scoring a career-high 30 points in the 17th-ranked Hawkeyes’ 96-72 win over Nebraska.
