Michigan 77, Wisconsin 54: With swarming defense and scoring inside and out, the Wolverines built a 40-point lead

Michigan guard Franz Wagner throws down a dunk after stealing the ball from the Badgers in the first half.

Wisconsin coach Greg Gard raved about Michigan’s defense before his team traveled to Ann Arbor.

UW’s players learned firsthand Tuesday night at the Crisler Center how well the Wolverines can defend.

The fifth-ranked Wolverines held No. 9 UW scoreless for the final 6 minutes 18 seconds of the first half in building a 17-point lead, led by as many as 40 points after halftime and remained unbeaten with a 77-54 victory.

No. 23 Minnesota hands No. 7 Michigan 1st loss in 75-57 romp

When two of the Big Ten's best and tallest players faced off just last week, Michigan's Hunter Dickinson made his 7-foot-1 mark on a decisive win over Minnesota.

Liam Robbins and his teammates stepped up in a big way to avoid the repeat.

Robbins had 22 points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes to lead No. 23 Minnesota to a 75-57 victory on Saturday, handing No. 7 Michigan its first loss while holding Dickinson to a season-low nine points.

Ivey's late 3 finishes Purdue's rally past No. 15 Ohio State

With the clock ticking down to the single digits, the score tied and the ball in his hands, Jaden Ivey had no doubt what would happen next.

“I’m hitting this shot,” Ivey said. “I knew I was in a slump, but I knew it was going in."

Ivey's step-back 3-pointer from the top of the key with 5 seconds left was true, completing Purdue's rally for a 67-65 victory over No. 15 Ohio State on Tuesday night.

No. 7 Michigan back on track after 87-63 rout of Maryland

This was the first time No. 7 Michigan had to respond to a loss this season.

Coach Juwan Howard liked what he saw.

"When you have that type of positive mindset, looking for solutions, it didn't surprise me how this team was ready to play today," Howard said.

Mike Smith made three early 3-pointers as Michigan raced to a 17-3 lead, and the Wolverines had little difficulty beating Maryland 87-63 on Tuesday night.

Wahl helps No. 10 Wisconsin beat Northwestern 68-52

Wisconsin coach Greg Gard said his team was better defensively in the second half. That was a bit of an understatement.

Tyler Wahl paced a balanced attack with a career-high 14 points and the 10th-ranked Badgers pulled away in the second half for a 68-52 victory over Northwestern on Wednesday night.

Indiana shuts down No. 4 Iowa for 81-69 road upset

Perhaps, coach Fran McCaffery said, his Iowa team got too comfortable.

The fourth-ranked Hawkeyes came into Thursday night's game against Indiana on a five-game winning streak and tied for the Big Ten lead.

But the Hoosiers' defense shut them down in an 81-69 comeback win.

Liddell helps No. 15 Ohio State beat No. 10 Wisconsin 74-62

Ohio State is capitalizing on the lack of fans at Big Ten games this season to take down one ranked opponent after another on the road.

E.J. Liddell scored 20 points and the 15th-ranked Buckeyes never trailed in a 74-62 victory over No. 10 Wisconsin on Saturday. Ohio State has beaten Top 15 teams in each of its last three road games.

Maryland gets another road upset, 63-49 vs. No. 17 Minnesota

Maryland paid another destructive visit to a Top 25 foe, leaving No. 17 Minnesota as the latest team that would have been wise to request a damage deposit.

The only breaks on this loaded Big Ten schedule have come by COVID-19-prompted postponements.

Eric Ayala had 21 points and three steals to help Maryland deliver another road upset of a ranked Big Ten opponent, a wire-to-wire 63-49 victory over Minnesota on Saturday.

No. 14 Wisconsin weathers Maryland comeback in 61-55 win

Wisconsin had blown most of an 18-point halftime lead against Maryland when Micah Potter delivered the counterpunch that flattened the potential comeback.

Soon after the Terrapins opened the second half with a 20-5 run to cut it to 43-40, Potter converted his third three-point play of the game and added a 3-pointer for a 52-42 advantage.
