Garza, Weiskamp lead No. 9 Iowa over No. 4 Ohio State 73-57

Luka Garza rushed through a national TV interview after No. 9 Iowa routed No. 4 Ohio State on Sunday because he couldn't wait to start celebrating with teammates in the locker room.

"They waited on me, and we had a little celebration," Garza said after scoring 24 points and pulling down 10 rebounds in Iowa's 73-57 win over the Buckeyes. "It's a huge win for our group, to be able to beat a team like that on their home floor. It's impressive for us, and it's huge going forward, especially with seeding in the Big Ten tournament and the NCAA Tournament."

Dosunmu's return powers No. 4 Illinois over No. 7 Ohio State

After missing three games with a concussion and facial injuries, Illinois star Ayo Dosunmu returned Saturday wearing a protective mask he chose because it makes him look a little like a superhero.

Dosunmu played the part with a 19-point performance, and the No. 4 Illini rallied late to beat reeling No. 7 Ohio State 73-68.

Edey, No. 23 Purdue beat Indiana for 9th straight time

Zach Edey got a crash course in the Indiana-Purdue rivalry when he was held scoreless in January.

The 7-foot-4 freshman from Toronto didn't make the same mistake Saturday.

Less than two months after going 0 for 4 against the Hoosiers, Edey scored 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds and led No. 23 Purdue to a milestone 67-58 victory over the Hoosiers.

No. 9 Ohio St beats No. 21 Purdue in OT, reach Big Ten semis

Seth Towns is a natural when it comes to staying poised.

So when Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann needed an extra body to fill a key role Friday, he gave the Harvard transfer an opportunity.

Towns took full advantage of it, scoring a season-high 12 points in 11 minutes and making the tiebreaking free throw to start overtime as the ninth-ranked Buckeyes beat No. 21 Purdue 87-78 in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals.

No. 3 Illinois routs Rutgers 90-68 in Big Ten quarterfinals

Ayo Dosunmu is convinced tournament time requires a sense of urgency. He was quick to demonstrate that against Rutgers.

The junior guard scored 14 of his 23 points in the first half as No. 3 Illinois built a 19-point lead on the way to a 90-68 rout of the Scarlet Knights in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament on Friday night.

Geo Baker Speaks Loudly, Lifts Rutgers Past Clemson 60-56

Rutgers guard Ron Harper Jr. (24) celebrates beating Clemson 60-56 after a men's college basketball game in the first round of the NCAA tournament at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Friday, March 19, 2021

Geo Baker spent part of this week using his voice to raise awareness about inequities in college sports.

He’ll get to use his platform for a couple more days after helping Rutgers to its first NCAA Tournament victory in 38 years.

Baker scored 13 points, including the decisive layup with 10 seconds left, and the 10th-seeded Scarlet Knights toppled No. 7 seed Clemson 60-56 on Friday night in the Midwest Region.

Howard, Michigan roll past Texas Southern in NCAA tourney

Michigan's Brandon Johns Jr. (23), Terrance Williams II (5), and Franz Wagner (21) compete for a rebound with Texas Southern's Justin Hopkins, left, and Quinton Brigham, right, during the first half of a First Round game in the NCAA men's college basketball tournament, Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind.

Juwan Howard loved playing in the NCAA Tournament. Sharing that experience with his players was pretty sweet, too.

Howard got the win in his first NCAA tourney game since taking over at Michigan, guiding Mike Smith and the top-seeded Wolverines to an 82-66 victory over Texas Southern on Saturday.

Inside job: Michigan goes to the paint to top FSU 76-58

What was touted as the marquee matchup in the Sweet 16 turned into a dud.

For everyone but Michigan, that is.

Seven-foot-1 freshman Hunter Dickinson had 14 points and eight rebounds and the top-seeded Wolverines took the inside route to the Elite Eight, pounding away in the paint Sunday for a 76-58 takedown of surprisingly helpless Florida State.
