No. 15 Michigan starts slow, rebounds to beat Maryland 42-21

Shea Patterson took a shotgun snap and spun to his left, leaving a blitzing linebacker grabbing for air to extend a play that ended with the second of his three touchdown passes.

Patterson had a season-high 282 yards passing thanks in part to ability to throw on the run to help No. 15 Michigan brush off a sloppy start and beat Maryland 42-21 on Saturday.

No. 3 Ohio State pulls away to beat pesky Indiana 49-26

A week after a gritty win at Penn State, No. 3 Ohio State had to work hard again, this time to put away pesky, unranked Indiana late in the game.

In doing so, Dwayne Haskins Jr. passed for a career-best 455 yards and six touchdowns -- including two in the fourth quarter -- as the Buckeyes pulled away for a 49-26 victory Saturday.

No. 16 Wisconsin's run game wears down Nebraska in 41-24 win

Having to face Jonathan Taylor in the fourth quarter almost seems unfair for a weary defense.

Good luck stopping him once he gets going.

Taylor ran for 221 yards and three scores, including a career-best 88-yarder in the fourth, and No. 16 Wisconsin's punishing ground game wore down winless Nebraska in a 41-24 victory Saturday night.

Michigan State 21, Penn State 17: The Tough Losses Continue

There isn’t much that can be said that will make Penn State fans feel better. There were a number of plays that could have went in favor of the Lions that would have made a difference in the outcome of the game. We can spend the next few days analyzing each first down that wasn’t made, the missed field goal, the play that Trace McSorley was pushed out of bounds to keep the clock running late in the fourth quarter. The dropped interception. They all happened. This is real.

None of the speculation will change the outcome of the game. It was a tough loss, one that will sting until the next kickoff a week from today. Take some time to let the pain sink in and then wear off. Then get ready to cheer on the team for the remainder of the season.

No. 3 Ohio State holds off persistent Minnesota 30-14

All of No. 3 Ohio State's strengths and weaknesses were on full display in a win over persistent Minnesota.

Dwayne Haskins and the passing game continue to be tip-top. Ohio State's receivers get open and vacuum in anything thrown near them. K.J. Hill's grab and run for a touchdown in the first half was the best catch of the season, so far.

Hill caught another TD pass in the fourth quarter to seal the 30-14 win over Minnesota (3-3, 0-3 Big Ten) on Saturday.

No. 19 Iowa pummels Maryland 23-0 for 3rd straight win

On a day when the wind made nearly every play an ugly one, Iowa's defense looked beautiful.

Nate Stanley threw for 86 yards and a touchdown and 19th-ranked Iowa pummeled Maryland 23-0 on Saturday for its third straight victory.

No. 18 Penn State beats Indiana 33-28 to snap 2-game skid

Trace McSorley and No. 18 Penn State kept it simple to snap a two-game losing streak.

"We just took what was there," McSorley said.

McSorley passed for 220 yards, ran for 107 and had a hand in three touchdowns in Penn State's 33-28 victory over Indiana on Saturday.

Huskers prep for Ohio St. in 45-9 win over Bethune-Cookman

Nebraska got what it wanted out of its game against Bethune-Cookman. The Cornhuskers won, nobody got hurt, and a lot of guys got to play.

Adrian Martinez passed for 213 yards and two touchdowns and Devine Ozigbo ran for 110 and another score -- all in the first half -- and Nebraska prepped for next week's road game against Ohio State with a 45-9 win Saturday.

No. 17 Penn State escapes No. 18 Iowa 30-24 with late stands

Trace McSorley visited the injury tent. Not much in there, he said. Just a table for him to sit on while his right knee was being checked out in the second quarter of Penn State's game against Iowa.

"It's kind of cramped," McSorley said.

The senior quarterback, barely 6-feet tall and 200 pounds but able to carry Penn State's offense, has started 35 straight games and only has two more left at Beaver Stadium. He was not about to sit out the second half of this one.

McSorley returned after giving Penn State a scare, and the 17th-ranked Nittany Lions made two late defensive stands to escape No. 18 Iowa 30-24 on Saturday, avoiding a third straight home loss.
