No. 17 Minnesota routs Maryland 52-10 to stay unbeaten

Coach P.J. Fleck had finished celebrating No. 17 Minnesota's 52-10 victory over Maryland on Saturday and again echoed the familiar refrain to reporters that his Gophers concentrate only a week at a time.

Ohio St. ignores distractions in 73-14 rout of Terrapins

Ohio State got its first taste of adversity this week when star defensive end Chase Young was suspended for the Maryland game for a possible NCAA infraction involving a personal loan.

On Saturday the No. 3 Buckeyes set that to one side and took out their frustrations on beleaguered Maryland, a program heading in the wrong direction.

Justin Fields threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in the first half Saturday as Ohio State rolled to a 73-14 win behind 705 yards of offense and 40 first downs.

Taylor helps No. 16 Wisconsin outlast No. 18 Iowa 24-22

The best players close out games, and that's what Jonathan Taylor did Saturday night.

Taylor rushed for 130 of his season-high 250 yards in the fourth quarter, and Danny Davis ran for a touchdown and caught another as No. 16 Wisconsin outlasted No. 18 Iowa 24-22.

Clifford sends No. 9 Penn State past No. 24 Indiana 34-27

Penn State's best offense on Saturday wasn't explosive or flashy. It was grinding and relentless and it helped keep the No. 9 Nittany Lions' playoff hopes alive.

Penn State (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten, No. 9 CFP) got three touchdowns from quarterback Sean Clifford who completed 11 of 23 passes for 179 yards and ran for 55 yards in Penn State's 34-27 win over No. 24 Indiana (7-3, 4-3).

No. 23 Iowa hands No. 7 Minnesota its first loss, 23-19

Minnesota's undefeated season came to an end in a place where the Gophers have struggled for a while.

Nate Stanley threw two touchdown passes and Tyler Goodson ran for a score to help No. 23 Iowa beat No. 7 Minnesota 23-19 on Saturday, handing the Gophers their first loss while hurting their playoff prospects.

No. 14 Michigan, behind Patterson, rips Michigan State 44-10

Shea Patterson had his best game at Michigan, picking apart a wounded rival to the left, right over the middle and deep.

Patterson threw for 384 yards -- his highest total since he played for Mississippi -- and four touchdowns to lead the 14th-ranked Wolverines to a 44-10 rout over Michigan State on Saturday.

No. 2 Ohio State tested but tops No. 9 Penn State 28-17

After cruising through the first 10 games against teams that didn’t put up much a fight, No. 2 Ohio State found itself in a slugfest with No. 9 Penn State.

The Buckeyes responded, winning with defense.

Justin Hillard intercepted Penn State backup Will Levis’ pass and the Buckeyes stopped the Nittany Lions on fourth down on two late drives to seal a 28-17 victory and lock up the Big Ten East title.

Patterson leads No. 12 Michigan past Indiana 39-14

Shea Patterson needed almost two full seasons to find his groove at Michigan.

    Now, he's hard to beat.

Patterson threw for 366 yards and five touchdowns, leading the 12th-ranked Wolverines to their fourth straight victory -- 39-14 over Indiana on Saturday.

Taylor runs for 222 in No. 14 Badgers' 45-24 win over Purdue

Jonathan Taylor will have a major decision to make in a few weeks: To stay or not to stay.

In the meantime, the junior All-America running back is taking the time to appreciate every remaining moment he has in a Wisconsin uniform.

Taylor ran for 222 yards -- the 12th time he's eclipsed the 200-yard mark in his career -- and a touchdown and No. 14 Wisconsin beat Purdue 45-24 on Saturday in the Badgers' final home game of the season.

Morgan's 4 TD passes lead No. 11 Gophers past Wildcats 38-22

Minnesota was eager to get back on the field -- and it showed.

Tanner Morgan led No. 11 Minnesota to scores on its first three possessions and finished with four touchdown passes, and the Gophers bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 38-22 win over Northwestern on Saturday.

No. 19 Iowa shuts down Illinois 19-10 behind Stanley, Duncan

Iowa’s defense made sure the team that was leading the nation in turnover margin gave up the ball.

The No. 19 Hawkeyes forced three turnovers in Saturday’s 19-10 win over Illinois, another stout performance from a defense that has been shutting teams down all season.

Iowa (8-3, 5-3 Big Ten), which came into the game allowing just 12.4 points per game, held Illinois to its lowest point total of the season one week after doing the same thing to Minnesota in a 23-19 win.

Keith Duncan to get scholarship after field goal lifts Iowa past Huskers

It was cold and damp, Iowa had the ball at its 26-yard line with 32 seconds left in regulation in a tie game, and the Hawkeyes' offense hadn't done much since the first quarter.

Instead of being content to play for overtime against border rival Nebraska, coach Kirk Ferentz went for the win Friday.

The Hawkeyes got it when Keith Duncan kicked a 48-yard field goal with one second left, giving No. 17 Iowa a 27-24 victory over Nebraska that leaves the Cornhuskers out of the postseason for a third consecutive season.

Badgers take back Axe in snowy 38-17 win vs. Gophers

Jack Coan delivered two momentum-shifting touchdown passes in the snow for No. 13 Wisconsin, Jonathan Taylor added three touchdowns to his FBS-leading total and the Badgers forcefully repossessed Paul Bunyan’s Axe by beating No. 9 Minnesota 38-17 on Saturday to win the Big Ten West Division.

No. 2 Ohio State beats No. 10 Michigan 56-27 for record run

Ohio State has turned what’s known as The Game into ITS Game, making one of the greatest rivalries in sports a one-sided series with little suspense.

Chasing a national championship, not simply beating the Wolverines, is how the Buckeyes measure a successful season.

And under first-year coach Ryan Day, they have put themselves in a position to potentially win it all for the second time since the 2014 season and third time this century.

J.K. Dobbins ran for four touchdowns and Justin Fields threw four TD passes, providing plenty of firepower for No. 2 Ohio State to rout No. 10 Michigan 56-27 Saturday for a school-record eighth straight win in the series.

Brown's 3 TDs lead No. 12 Penn State over Rutgers 27-6

Journey Brown was not sure if his heavy heart made him more difficult to tackle, but it definitely propelled the Penn State running back to his best game yet.

Brown, who played with the recent death of a young cousin on his mind, ran for 103 yards with three touchdowns and No. 12 Penn State pulled away from Rutgers 27-6 on Saturday.

No. 2 Ohio State rallies for 3rd straight Big Ten title

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields looked frazzled and frustrated in the first half Saturday night. So did the rest of the Buckeyes.

Then the Big Ten's offensive player of the year started trusting himself -- and his teammates.

Fields threw three touchdown passes and the Buckeyes defense pitched a second-half shutout and beat No. 10 Wisconsin 34-21 to help No. 2 Ohio State claim an unprecedented third straight outright Big Ten championship and likely their first playoff trip in three years.

UCF gets 10th by beating Marshall 48-25 in Gasparilla Bowl

Central Florida is best known for a high-powered offense, but the Knights are capable of big plays on defense, too.

Richie Grant and Tre'mon Morris-Brash had first-quarter defensive touchdowns, Dillon Gabriel led three third-quarter scoring drives and UCF beat Marshall 48-25 in the Gasparilla Bowl on Monday.
