    Adrian's first double-double lifts No. 19 WVU

Nathan Adrian will have to be West Virginia's best player if the Mountaineers are going to make a deep March Madness run this season.

    So far, so good.

Adrian had 15 points and 14 rebounds for his first career double-double, helping No. 19 West Virginia cruise past Mississippi Valley State 107-66 on Monday night.

Mack powers No. 23 Texas over ULM 80-59

Tevin Mack powered over two defenders for a tough layup, hit the floor and picked himself up to flex his muscles and smile.

Mack was back and so was No. 23 Texas.

The sophomore forward scored 14 points after returning from a one-game suspension, and the Longhorns used a big second half to roll over Louisiana-Monroe 80-59 on Monday night.

Motley 17 points as Baylor upsets No. 4 Oregon 66-49

Johnathan Motley and the Baylor Bears got quite an early-season confidence boost -- their first-ever non-conference home win over a top-five opponent.

And it counts even though fourth-ranked Oregon was without preseason All-America forward Dillon Brooks, their 6-foot-7 junior who was their leading scorer last season but is still recovering from offseason foot surgery.

An eager Motley, who was suspended for the opener, scored 17 points in his season debut as Baylor beat the Ducks 66-49 on Tuesday.

Frank Mason III's jumper with 1.8 seconds left lifts Kansas over Duke

Kansas had already gone through a tough loss this season, falling in overtime to Indiana in Honolulu.

On Tuesday night, the Jayhawks went from looking like easy winners to facing another excruciating loss. But a short jumper by Frank Mason IIIwith 1.8 seconds to go gave the Jayhawks a 77-75 victory over top-ranked Duke in the State Farm Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden.

Mack and No. 23 Texas beat Eastern Washington 85-52

Three wins in seven days was just about the perfect start to the season for No. 23 Texas' new starting lineup.

The rest of the schedule promises to be much more challenging. And it starts right away, far away from the comforts of home.

Tevin Mack scored 19 points and Texas rolled to an easy 85-52 victory over Eastern Washington on Thursday night as the Longhorns started smoothing out the rough edges in their 3-0 start.

Mason helps No. 7 Kansas pull away from Siena, 86-65

Whenever Bill Self looks back at the box score from his 207th win at Allen Fieldhouse, one that made him more successful in the building than any other Kansas coach, he'll see Tyler Self's name on it.

His son, a senior backup who rarely plays, knocked down his only shot in the game.

"Now that you mention it, it's nice," Self said after the seventh-ranked Jayhawks' 86-65 victory over Siena on Friday night. "It was nice he got in there and made the shot."

Morris's triple-double leads Iowa State to 67-point win

It was hardly a coincidence that Iowa State senior point guard Monte Morris had one his most complete games Sunday.

Morris notched the fifth triple-double in school history and No. 20 Iowa State throttled The Citadel 130-63, setting a program record for points in a game.

    WVU routs New Hampshire 100-41

West Virginia has been known for its defense for years. So far the Mountaineers' offense has been putting on quite a show.

Esa Ahmad tied a career-high with 14 points, Nathan Adrian added 12 and the No. 19 Mountaineers cruised to a 100-41 victory over New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon. This is West Virginia's first back-to-back games with over 100 points since the 1996-97 season.

Jackson leads No. 5 Kansas past UAB 83-63 in CBE Classic

Josh Jackson has been huddling with the Kansas coaching staff since the start of the season, and the message has been the same: If you quit fouling so much, you would say on the floor more.

The sensational freshman must have finally listened.

Jackson poured in 22 points, many of them on highlight-worthy dunks, while backcourt mates Frank Mason III and Devonte Graham helped carry the load as fifth-ranked Kansas routed Alabama-Birmingham 83-63 on Monday night in the semifinals of the CBE Classic.

Kansas turns to zone, beats Georgia 65-54 to win CBE Classic

Frank Mason III and Josh Jackson took it as a shot to their pride.

Bill Self was just trying to win a game.

The Jayhawks' coach turned to a zone defense Tuesday night, a rarity for a guy whose hallmark is a relentless man-to-man, and that slowed down Georgia enough to give fifth-ranked Kansas a 65-54 victory over the Bulldogs in the CBE Classic championship game.

No. 20 Baylor holds off VCU 71-63 in Battle 4 Atlantis

Baylor couldn't get Johnathan Motleygoing early, Manu Lecomte was fighting his shot and the 20th-ranked Bears found themselves trailing for one of the few times this season.

Their response? Cut down on turnovers, frustrate VCU defensively and grind out the tough baskets, a formula that helped Baylor hold off the Rams 71-63 on Wednesday in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis.

No. 19 West Virginia beat Illinois 89-57 in Tip-Off

Illinois coach John Groce stood behind the podium and offered a bit of analysis.

    And an understatement.

"They're really good," Groce said a few minutes after No. 19 West Virginia's 89-57 victory over Illinois on Thursday in the first round of the NIT Season Tip-Off at the Barclays Center.

No. 20 Bears beat No. 24 Spartans 73-58 in Battle 4 Atlantis

Baylor dominated Michigan State inside with its size advantage, got out in transition and kept knocking down shots.

The result was a second lopsided win against a ranked team in 10 days, along with the No. 20 Bears earning a trip to the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game.

Johnathan Motley scored 20 of his 26 points in the first half and the Bears shot 55 percent after halftime to beat the 24th-ranked Spartans 73-58 on Thursday.

Morris scores 20, No. 21 Iowa State tops Indiana State 73-71

No. 21 Iowa State kept firing away until some of its shots finally began to drop.

Monte Morris scored 20 points and Matt Thomas shrugged off a cold shooting performance to make a 3-pointer that put his team ahead for good, and the Cyclones held off Indiana State 73-71 in the opening game of the AdvoCare Invitational at Disney World on Thursday.

No. 5 Kansas dunks its way past UNC Asheville, 95-57

Despite all the rim-rattling dunks that Kansas freshman Udoka Azubuike had Friday night, the play that stood out to UNC Asheville coach Nick McDevitt was the only shot the big man missed.

"Got his own rebound and dunked it," McDevitt said with a shake of his head.

Azubuike had seven dunks in all, finished with 17 points in his first career start and helped the fifth-ranked Jayhawks roll to a 95-57 victory over the Bulldogs in their return to Allen Fieldhouse.

No. 20 Baylor rallies to beat No. 10 Louisville in Bahamas

Little had gone right for No. 20 Baylor when it headed to the locker room in Friday's Battle 4 Atlantis championship game, trailing at halftime for the third straight day -- though this time by a big margin.

Maybe that made it easier for the Bears to shrug all that off and respond with a whopper of a comeback to claim the title.

King McClure scored all 15 of his points in the second half and Baylor rallied to beat No. 10 Louisville 66-63 after trailing by as many as 22 points late in the first half.

No. 9 Baylor stays unbeaten with easy win over Sam Houston

After posting three straight comebacks to win the Battle 4 Atlantis championship last week in the Bahamas, No. 9 Baylor came home hoping to avoid an emotional letdown.

Thanks to a smothering defense, the Bears had nothing to worry about Wednesday night.

Reserve King McClure scored 14 points and Baylor remained unbeaten with a 79-45 victory over Sam Houston State.
