Sochan and shorthanded No. 7 Baylor get past TCU 72-62

Jeremy Sochan and Kendall Brown are standout freshmen for reigning national championship Baylor. The roommates are also young kids who can endure the heavy workload needed from them with the seventh-ranked Bears playing shorthanded.

Sochan matched his season high with 17 points while Brown had 13 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Bears, who were without their big man and two ailing guards and still led throughout in a 72-62 victory over TCU on Saturday.

No. 9 Texas Tech wins 20th home game in a row, 66-42 over OU

Ninth-ranked Texas Tech is already tough enough to beat on its home court. Things really got out of hand when Oklahoma kept turning over the ball.

"When you get easy baskets, you know, you're probably going to win a lot of games," first-year Tech head coach Mark Adams said.

Jones scores 21, sparks No. 20 Texas rally past TCU 75-66

Time and again, Texas has turned to Andrew Jones to provide the offense to rescue the Longhorns from a loss.

They did it Wednesday against TCU, and the sixth-year guard delivered the big baskets again in arguably the best stretch of scoring in his career.

Jones scored 21 points, sparking the key run in the second half that pulled the No 20 Longhorns out of a 10-point deficit before Texas pulled away for a 75-66 victory. Jones has scored at least 20 points in three consecutives games for the first time in his career.

No. 10 Baylor rallies to beat No. 5 Kansas 80-70 in Big 12

Jeremy Sochan and his teammates kept encouraging each other after 10th-ranked Baylor got down big early again against No. 5 Kansas, only three weeks after an embarrassing loss to the Jayhawks. The Bears then started making big impact plays.

Sochan had a block that led to a layup by Adam Flagler right after his two-handed slam dunk in a big run before halftime, and the Bears finally took the lead after the break in an 80-70 victory aturday night that kept the Jayhawks from wrapping up a share of their 20th Big 12 title.

TCU 2nd win in row over top-10 team, 74-64 over No. 6 Kansas

TCU is off to a good start in March, and the Horned Frogs pretty much know for sure now that they will be part of the madness of the NCAA Tournament.

Sixth-ranked Kansas has consecutive losses for the first time this season while still trying to clinch a Big 12 title.

Mike Miles Jr. had 19 points and six assists as TCU solidified its once-shaky tournament resume with a second consecutive win versus a top-10 team, 74-64 over the Jayhawks on Tuesday night.

No. 6 Kansas slips past TCU 72-68 to remain tied atop Big 12

Kansas coach Bill Self called point guard Dajuan Harris something unfit for print after his scoreless performance at TCU earlier this week served as a microcosm of the Jayhawks' entire listless performance.

Well, Harris and the rest of his team made sure Self wouldn't repeat those words Thursday night.

Ochai Agbaji scored 22 points, Harris showed some moxie by blocking Mike Miles' shot in the final seconds. and the sixth-ranked Jayhawks avenged their loss to the Horned Frogs two days earlier with a 72-68 victory that forged a tie with Baylor atop the Big 12 heading into their regular-season finales.

McCormack leads No. 6 Kansas past No. 21 Texas, 70-63 in OT

Texas coach Chris Beard made the calculated decision to take away the flotilla of Kansas sharpshooters in their showdown at Allen Fieldhouse, where the sixth-ranked Jayhawks were trying to clinch a share of the Big 12 title Saturday.

    It worked for 40 minutes.

It didn't work for the 5 minutes of overtime.

With few other options on offense, the Jayhawks turned to bruising big man David McCormack, who responded with a memorable senior night sendoff. He poured in 22 points with 10 boards, going 10 for 10 from the foul line and throwing down the clinching dunk in the extra session, as Kansas persevered for a 70-63 victory.

Oklahoma State sinks No. 12 Texas Tech's Big 12 title hopes

Oklahoma State salvaged a special ending from what could have been a throwaway season.

Bryce Thompson made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 19.4 seconds left and Oklahoma State beat No. 12 Texas Tech 52-51 on Saturday, eliminating the Red Raiders from the Big 12 title race.

Agbaji leads No. 6 KU past TCU 75-62 in Big 12 semifinals

Ochai Agbaji curled off a screen and was wide open for a rim-rattling ally-oop dunk, the inbound play perfectly executed if only Kansas teammate Dajuan Harris had lofted him the ball in the Big 12 quarterfinals.

Harris didn't make the same mistake against TCU in Friday night's semifinals.

This time, Agbaji soared through the air of T-Mobile Center and caught Harris' pass well above the rim, throwing it down with a one-handed slam. It punctuated a 22-point performance by the Big 12 player of the year, and a 75-62 victory over the Horned Frogs that sent the Jayhawks into Saturday night's championship game.

No. 2 Arizona pulls away to beat Colorado 82-72 in Pac-12

Kerr Kriisa handed his crutch to a teammate and grabbed the red Arizona sticker. The Wildcats' point guard lifted it in the air, let out a shout and placed it on the championship slot of the Pac-12 Tournament bracket inside T-Mobile Arizona.

Even missing a key piece, Arizona has enough pieces to make up the difference.

Azoulas Tubelis had 20 points and 11 rebounds, Justin Kier added 13 points in Kriisa's place and No. 2 Arizona pulled away late to beat Colorado 82-72 Friday night in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals.

No. 14 Texas Tech survives Oklahoma 56-55 in Big 12 semis

Mark Adams wasn't about to use any sort of flowery poetry to describe No. 14 Texas Tech's 56-55 victory over Oklahoma in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals Friday night, instead describing the entire 40 minutes as "ugly.

No. 6 KU beats No. 14 Texas Tech 74-65 to win Big 12 tourney

Ochai Agbaji was a lightly regarded three-star prospect when he left his home in Kansas City, Missouri, four long years ago to play big-time college basketball just down the road at Kansas.

Agbaji returned home this weekend as the Big 12's player of the year, then showed out in front of hundreds of friends and family during the Big 12 Tournament, leading the sixth-ranked Jayhawks to a 74-65 win over Texas Tech on Saturday night to capture not only the title for his team but MVP honors for himself.

Defending champ Baylor opens with 85-49 win over Norfolk St

Matthew Mayer just knew it was a perfect pass he turned into a half-ending breakaway dunk for defending national champion Baylor. He wasn't really sure what happened before he got the ball.

"I thought it was like a rebound or something, and then all of sudden the ball was just right in front of me," Mayer said. "I was like, ‘Wow, that was great.'"

Mayer scored a career-high 22 points, including that punctuating half-ending dunk with a salute, as the top-seeded Bears opened the NCAA Tournament with an 85-49 victory over Norfolk State on Thursday.

Texas Tech overwhelms Montana State 97-62 in NCAA 1st round

Terrence Shannon Jr. scored 20 points and set a dominating tone in the opening minutes for Texas Tech, which overwhelmed Montana State 97-62 Friday with one of the best-shooting games in the first round since the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985.
