Well said, we'd be foolish to not consider the trade presuming it's even an option. I've said before I like Aldridge but he's not a #1 guy. If we want to hang onto him we will have to pay him like one even though he will start to decline every year. The more and more I consider trading for top2 pick the more I like the idea. Power forward has to be one of the easier positions to find a replacement. The most important factor is One of the top 3 guys future superstars if so, make the trade. Plus we obviously get players in return since salaries have to be matched.
If things don't go the Blazers way during the first half of the season, there is always the trade deadline. If he walk, I think that allows the Blazers to offer a max contract to someone else. I just hate the idea of trading LA for draft picks and basically starting all over. i know it's a strong draft and it's easy to get caught up in draft and who is the next potential star . . . but the Blazers have a good thing going talent and chemistry wise with the starting 5. Let's build the bench, use the playoff experience to grow and play this thing out are my thoughts.
Ya that would be a lot better then getting someone like Wiggins and still offering a max contract to someone else.
How are we able to get a top 3 pick+capspace this year? Neither the Cavs, Bucks, nor the 76ers have enough room to absorb Aldridge outright. Players would have to be sent back. Not to mention whether or not a max player would even decide to come here or not (especially without Aldridge). They would be able to offer a max contract next year, but that would come at the cost of absolutely giving up on next year, then risk losing both Matthews and Lopez as well during that year. And again, you would have to count on one of those stars to actually want to come here. Sounds great in theory. Incredibly unrealistic in reality. Might as well try winning the lottery.....
Actually, quite easily done. Like what happens many years, make the trade on Draft night but it's not completed until after July 1 when players like Luol Deng, Spencer Hawes and CJ Miles come off their cap alleviating them of over $22MM in cap space.
My point is there is always a plan b and c . . . you should stick to the OT section where your nonsense gets overlooked.
From wojnarowski's twitter - https://twitter.com/wojyahoonba/status/479650504046551040 Embiid has foot injury, the Cavs don't want him, now considering Exum.
Here's the exact tweet: "As Jeff Goodman reports, Joel Embiid suffered a foot injury. Cavs want to workout Dante Exum for No. 1 too, sources tell Yahoo."
How crazy would it be if Philly ended up with him? Two years in a row, they'd get the consensus #1 picks dropping to them due to injury concerns. If they get lucky and those two stay healthy, a frontline of Noel and Embiid is absolutely sick.
Says they discovered a foot injury during medical exams. Call me crazy but this could be a good sign! There was something wrong about the way he was running up and down the court when I saw him. Maybe they can repair this problem and solve a major issue for him physically.
the fact its in his foot and he didnt notice it has me worried. Any foot/leg problem with a big man has me worried. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Forgive me for playing armchair doctor, but this could be a compensatory result of his prior back issues.
philly seems crazy about Wiggins. there was a good article about how nuts philly has been about Wiggins over at CBS eye on basketball Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
