Best post ever! LMA is an avg offense player and not good on the Defensive side. Well noted, please tell me when ESPN is going to have you on to talk about how overrated LMA is.

Doesn't he have offers from both Adidas/Nike? I would assume its coming down to talk to them and chose who he is going to go with.

Why would Cleveland trade a great #1 pick for a slug like LMA, as you see him, who may not even sign with the Cavs after next season? I've yet to read anything on this board telling me why the Cavs would trade a great #1 pick for an "over-rated" player like LMA.

    Why???

I also want to hear why Sinobas thinks Cleveland should send the #1 pick in the draft for LMA, who isn't even a top 100 player.

If that unproven player becomes the next big thing, then you trade LaMarcus Aldridge for him. Or else go back in your time machine and make the trade since in the future you'll know the outcome.

Im against setting ourselves back 3-4 years. But if there is a way doing such a deal with only setting ourselves back let's say one year. I would probably do it. Like the idea of doing the deal and freeing up cap space. If that cap space could translate into Kevin Love. That's a two for one deal. This is fantasy of course.

I can't believe how much time an energy you people are putting in to this.

    LAMARCUS WON'T BE TRADED.

The sooner you people get that through your thick skulls, the better.

And this is what so many people seem to be missing. Trading LMA for the #1 does not equate to a 1:1 player swap. We aren't replacing LMA with an "unproven rookie". It also gives us a ton of money to sign a vet replacement, or make a lop-sided trade to bring in a replacement.
If you can get Monroe, Pau, West, Boozer, or some other plug-in PF, in addition to the #1 draft pick, we won't see much - if any - of a drop-off next season and will likely have a much better future.
I agree that it's highly unlikely that we'll trade LMA. But if we do it won't be a "rebuilding" move like some seem to think it would be.

I agree with you that it's not as big step back as some make it seem but by keeping Aldridge your playing the "Safe Card" once again. It's a fear thing ya know to get rid of your star players.

It doesn't have a damned thing to do with fear. It has to do with not being stupid enough to trade one of the best players in the NBA for a fucking draft pick.

Yes, most GMs would be apprehensive about sending away the team MVP for a 54-win team for an unproven draft pick who might be the next Harrison Barnes. It's not fear, it's called wanting to keep your job.

Great. So when he doesn't trade LMA, everyone on this board should realize that Olshey's gut told him it would be a horrible move.

Which brings me great comfort, because that means there's no fucking way LaMarcus is traded this off season.

Unless Neil believes the player he would take #1 will be better than LMA.
