If they do I think they are making a huge mistake. He won't be able to play for another 2 years and he is undersized even for the point guard position. Childress would be the best possible choice for the Cavs pending Eric Williams leaving via FA. He can play the 3 and 4 for the Cavs and would make a great role player.</font>
Chlidress at the 4? No way. The kid weighs 205lbs. Chlidress has the abilty to play 2 and 3 due to his speed and quickness. But other than that, I do agree that Childress should be our 1st priority in this draft.

Plus, they have Carlos Boozer to play the 4. Yeah, there have been rumors about Telfair being taken by the Cavs, partially because of his friendship with LeBron James. Cavs Want Telfair I think the combination could work out. Since Telfair is undersized, LeBron at 6'8" helps him out. Both of them having amazing court vision.

If he gains some weight he can actually turn into a three position player (SG, SF, PF). Picking up Telfair with the 10th is too high IMO. They already have a point guard in McInnis that can run the team efficiently. The best possible scenario for the Cavs is to get Childress. I think the the news is some sort of a smoke screen on the Cavs part to make teams think they are high on Bastien. Damn conspiracy theories.....
I think the reason the Cavs are high on Sabby is because if McInnis goes down, they don't want a 12 game losing streak w/o a backup pointguard. Ollie didn't bring to the table what he was suppose to do. Im pretty sure Telfair would do a much better of a job running the team rather than Kevin Ollie. BTW. Naw I still disagree with Childress playing 4. Just way too small even if he gains weight.
Telfair is garbage. We need to look at one of the other PGs (Livingston would be excellent) or one of the Josh's.
People said Lebron J was inconsistent. Look what he did, he improved it. Telfair can do that, and I think Cleveland will be a great fit for him, learn from a veteran like McInnis. Play along young studs such as Bron and Booze. What more could he want?

He's way too raw, people above me are talking about he could start is insane. He's comming from high school, no way he's better then McInnis right now, and I don't even see him being a sixth man. From what I've read, Telfair is the rawest high schooler in the draft. I think it would be at least 3 years before he could significantly contribute. Furthermore, when LeBron is a FA in 4 years.....the only way I see him leaving is if we arnt close to a ring. We need to get a guy that can contribute right now. We can't afford another Diop pick where it takes years for him to be a solid player. And drafting a guy just because he's friends with one of our players is bad business IMO. It's nice he and LeBron get along but please, pick the right guy for the team on the court......not LeBron's buddy. LBJ is a great player, but I don't see the wisdom in letting a 19 year old kid run this organization. Maybe in 5 years. Let's be realistic.

First of all their needs lie in the SF position and second of all Jameer Nelson should be taken waaaaay before he does. </font> I have actually heard reports out of Insidehoops.com that Telfair is dropping in and out of the lottery. There could be a big chance that he could land late first round. Like I said before....The Cavs are probably using the newspapers to spread their propoganda to hide the players that they covet. In no way does this make sense for them.

There will still be soem good players around like Josh Smith, or maybe Josh Childress, or Iguodala. The Cavs should go after a SF right now, because there is a bunch of goods ones around the 10th pick like Childress, Smith, or Iguodala. They should take the best player, instead of just taking PG. Nelson is the better player right now, but in a few years Telfair will be the better player IMO.

I just finished reading the paper and it said that the Cavaliers have no desire in Nelson coming to the team at all. They feel he will be an NBA bust. If you need a source, it will probably be at www.plaindealer.com. BTW. Good lookin out on the thread merging CV.
No to Nelson AND Telfair. The Cavs wishlist should have 5 players on it.... Shaun Livingston, Ben Gordon, Devin Harris, Josh Childress, Josh Smith. If it isn't one of those 5... then we might want to look at a big guy like Biedrins.

I'd rather see the Cavs take a big guy rather then reaching on a PG. I wouldnt mind us shoping Wagner to move up to get Livingston though. Picture our backcourt size with a 6'7 PG and a 6'8' LeBron. Can you say matchup problems??
Yeah, that would create huge matchup problems. I doubt that it will happen. I think that if they keep the pick, then Childress is the way to go.
Gordon and Childress are my two top choices. I would also be happy with Livingston, Harris, or Smith.
