then Scrap really isn't a factor for you. However that isn't true for all. Our case in point, when a beam costs over $300 per foot, we track scrap very closely and the costs of tracking does not outweigh the costs of the loss of excessive scrap for us.

Yep, plus steel scrap is with worth nothing to us. Stainless, aluminum, brass, and copper much more so.

But even then, the parts are worth so much more and so varied in size and shape that the scrap could vary and we may have that piece of material for a year or two before we use it. Often times it's just a remnant from another job.

There are just far too many scenarios in which making more scrap actually makes the shop more money, and faster, than waiting for the ideal scenerio...

In September, the latest month for which data exists, a staggering 3% or 4.4 million US employees quit their jobs. At the bottom of the wage-scale it’s due to a desire to avoid face-to-face contact. That should dissipate as jobs are reengineered and Covid hopefully fades. At the top end, telecommuting has permanently increased the number of viable job openings/person, this characteristic is unlikely to fade, thus elevating churn permanently.

So last night, $NAKD had a 15:1 reverse stock split. I have about $500 worth, but while it was processing on Robinhood it kept my 1000 shares (at .50) and put it at the split price, so I randomly was up 7 grand on that. But those idiots fixed it.

$100 billion is less than 3% of $3.4 trillion.

Yes, we have criminals, and criminals will commit crime.

Nobody wants to do shit jobs for dirt cheap. Shocker.

Maybe if we make people miserable enough they will accept more abuse for less compensation!?!?

Then we can complain when they protest!!

Fucking plebs... Why did we ever get rid of slavery? Our lives have gotten so much more difficult since then.

We end up on this earth through no choice of our own, but that doesn’t mean the world owes us a living. We have a choice to either survive, or to curl up and die. Call me cynical, but most jobs are “shit jobs”. I had a job (a career even!) that paid a living wage and provided good benefits, including retirement. That said, I hated every second of my job for the last twenty years of it. Tough shit. I had myself and my family to provide for. So I ate the dysfunction and went to work every day. I didn’t have the time or energy (or skills) for any job I might have considered “dream”. It wasn’t up to the government (other people) to prop me up if I didn’t want to work the job I had. No one is owed a living…..nor should they be. No one is owed their “dream job” (if they even know what that is)……nor should they be. What I personally find ironic is that most of these people are only qualified (if even that) for the jobs they don’t want and refuse to take. Too many people refuse to even try. That’s as much on them as it is their parents and the education system. And expecting every job to pay a so called “living wage” doesn’t solve anything. As wages go up, so do prices. It’s a vicious cycle. I guess some folks would rather play the victim card and either starve to death, or leech off family/society than hold themselves accountable for their own survival and/or happiness. Whatever happened to starting at the bottom and working your way up? Isn’t that what’s made this country so “great” to begin with (or so the fairy tale goes). Americans have gotten so f**king weak and whiny.

Nobody suggested anybody owes us anything. You said you had a living wage. Most are willing to work a shit job for a living wage.

The people quitting right now are either retiring or quitting shit jobs that pay shit.

People who have been conditioned for decades to accept shitty jobs with compensation that keep you broke have discovered it's better to have freedom to do what you want and be broke than work a shit job and be broke.
