Brook Lopez is hot garb. Why would we want him?

Because he fits the system of bringing in what is supposedly hot garbage and hoping it's more than that

We have 4/5s of a pretty great small-ball lineup - Damian, CJ, Crabbe, Aminu. If we could add an awesome big we'd be like the Orlando Magic when they went to the finals the last time.
This draft is really lacking in bigs. Skal Labissiere was supposed to be it, but he's looking soft as shite. I can see why Olshey was so desperate to trade up for Porzingis, I guess.

Fuck it, sign me up for The Other Lopez. He's actually a not-bad shot blocker, so he's not the defensive sieve that people like Enes (brother of Elvis the Pelvis) Kanter and Greg Monroe are.

Incidentally, in case nobody in this thread has pointed this out, according to the Trade Machine, BroPez cannot be traded before Jan 14th, so this thread is seriously mis-titled.

But I would be prepared to present Brooklyn with:
Ed Davis (have to throw them a bone)
    Meyers Leonard
Chris Kaman (in case needed for numbers)
    Gerald Henderson (likewise)
    Mo Harkless
Noah Vonleh (let's just give up now and not let it linger like with TRob)
and say: take your pick to make the numbers work. But no, we've decided we like Plumlee, so you can't have him unless you give us Hollis-Jefferson back.

You post these Boban highlights but all I see is Pat Stacks.

Boban can tuck him in his pocket and bring him along.

Surely there's no way they are going to trade either of them though, right?

    A guy can dream.

Boban's on a one-year contract, at least. I honestly don't know how they view him. They give him very spot minutes and that may be because he's just so slow or it may be because they're bringing him along slowly. It'll be interesting to see the market for him over the Summer.

How about getting that same center from the Magic team?

Dwight has worn out his welcome in multiple cities, fallen out of favor of fans all around the country. He isn't a happy camper in Houston and they may not offer him a full long term max deal. I haven't been a Dwight fan; but at some point he goes from being way overvalued to undervalued. It happened with Blake Griffin and at times Carmelo Anthony. Yeah they have warts in their games but in the right role they can still be valuable.

I'm not giving Dwight a max 4-5 year contract. But if he's available for less and other teams are shying away there's a point I'd start to consider it. With Dame and CJ here I feel we have a strong culture with two respected vocal leaders. Nobody would be looking for Dwight to lead the team. He just needs to be 80% of what he's been in the past. Two years ago he was a monster in the playoffs against us and even last year while severely injured he put up 16/14 getting his team a few wins from the finals. It probably wouldn't make sense to acquire him this season while we're lottery bound but its something I'll keep an eye on in the summer. I mean who would've thought Rondo would ultimately sign with the Kings for MLE money when he was still back with the Celtics.

I remember both of his previous teams begging him to stay and fans hating him when he jilted them.

So, January 15th being the day Lopez actually becomes tradable, and that being this week, it seems like a good time to bump this thread.

    Devil made me do it.

The Nets just mass fired people in their organization, including Lionel Hollins and moving Billy King to another job. I wonder if this will make them more likely to give up on guys like Bropez for not that much.

The more I see a desperate need of inside scoring, the more I like trading for brook. He's an all-star center that's been in a bad organization.
Dame and cj would get a lot more open looks.

Yeah. Brook isn't a good option. But I'm sure Olshey is ready to steal something away. That franchise is a dumpster fire. Steal what we can.

Still think Thad Young would be a good fit here starting at the 4.
