I think the Nets are in a real bad spot. Because of all those picks they gave up to Houston to obtain Harden, they don't have a path where they can trade for vets at the end of their career or for young, unproven assets who can't win now. For that reason, they probably value Sharpe far less than most people here.
No snark meant today. Can't guarantee that the other time you're talking about that I wasn't being shitty. Sorry if I was, I'll work on it.
I think if we played Simmons on offense at the same position as we played Nurk then he could be amazing and obviously he's one of the best defenders in the league.
Fair enough. Forums are great, but it’s easy to misunderstand intent. If I got off track on that tonight, my apologies.
"we can't trade Sharpe or Simons" "DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO GET DURANT" "Sharpe is untouchable" "DURANT!" "FUTURE!" rinse and repeat.
Because Sharpe isn't ready to win now. If they traded Durant around a guy like Sharpe, they'd be one of the worst teams in the league, so they'd be adding Sharpe, but losing out on multiple lottery picks of their own, while suffering worse attendence, etc. Not a great trade off.
All I was saying is Sharpe would be considered like trading a draft pick. He as top 10 last year and is showing huge upside. If Brooklyn trades Durant they will be in full rebuild mode
I disagree I think he’s gone by deadline. As soon as Kyrie got traded KD was in the office asking for a trade
I find it highly relevant that we can't even theoretically throw our hat in the ring because of poor management of our books by our GM.
