I drive for Doordash on Vancouver and I've already worked 12 hour days on Friday and Saturday and I'm in the middle of a 12 hour shift today. Air seems worse today. Cant tell if it's that or if the smoke is just finally catching up to me.
I bet it's probably both. I just checked and I thought it was improving but it was at over 360. I had to go outside just now for literally 30 seconds and my eyes are burning.
Just watered the plants and our new bamboo outside. I had a mask on, but my lungs are killing me! This is our at our house right now!
Looks like you have another day at least. Winds are supposed to stay "Light and Variable" for the next couple days. It also seems like the rain we were all hoping for tonight is weak at best.
Just received this text from my sis. It's regarding her late husband's granddaughter, etc.: I heard from Bill's family yesterday and the news is bad. Bill's granddaughter who has been doing meth for a couple of years was arrested in Clackamas County for arson. The family thinks she was in cahoots with her boyfriend- she lighting a fire near homes who were evacuated and boyfriend looting them. All for drug money. She has been in trouble with the law before and her mom thought she had cleaned up. She is 7 months pregnant and deep into meth. I imagine this may be where the multiple fires have been coming from- druggies looking for quick money.
Is that related to the guy who was just arrested like last night? I think there have been a few local (small) fires that have been started by addicts, but I don't think the big ones have been (outside of the one that is known to have been caused by a addict/meth head).
Not that meth users necessarily act rationally, but that story makes no sense. If the house is evacuated already, why light a fire? barfo
I think she meant they lit fires that were next to areas of already evacuated homes. Therein, creating havoc and causing more folks to evacuate near where their fires were set. Then looting those.
