Bobby Jindal: GOP Should 'Stop Being The Stupid Party' http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1112/83743.html “It is no secret we had a number of Republicans damage our brand this year with offensive, bizarre comments — enough of that,” Jindal said. “It’s not going to be the last time anyone says something stupid within our party, but it can’t be tolerated within our party. We’ve also had enough of this dumbed-down conservatism. We need to stop being simplistic, we need to trust the intelligence of the American people and we need to stop insulting the intelligence of the voters.” Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Monday called on Republicans to “stop being the stupid party” and make a concerted effort to reach a broader swath of voters with an inclusive economic message that pre-empts efforts to caricature the GOP as the party of the rich. “The Republican Party is going to fight for every single vote,” he said. “That means the 47 percent and the 53 percent, that means any other combination of numbers going up to 100 percent.”
Romney won people making over $50k a year by 53-45%. Its not that the GOP was bad, there were just more less financially successful/unemployed people that voted Obama. People making under $50k a year voted Obama 60-40%. And that is likely a significant number of people. http://www.cnn.com/election/2012/results/race/president#exit-polls
Basically, if the country has more people making over $50k a year, the GOP will be stronger. However, if people stay impoverished and more on the government dole, you'll have more Democrats winning. Remember, incomes went down under Obama so its no surprise he won by such a wider margin.
What a complete pile of shit statement. You sound as bad as right wing Christians; telling us we must live like they do. I thought you were more reasonable than this. I think you are allowing your emotions and bias opinions get the better of you.
GOP admitting they are out of touch with America In the aftermath of Barack Obama's victory over Mitt Romney in the presidential election, Newt Gingrich said it's time for the Republican party "to stop, take a deep breath and learn." Gingrich reflected on the outcome of the contest during an appearance on NBC's "Today" on Monday. The former House Speaker, who made a failed bid for the GOP presidential nomination earlier this year, said, "The president won an extraordinary victory. And the fact is we owe him the respect of trying to understand what they did and how they did it." He added, "But if you had said to me three weeks ago, Mitt Romney would get fewer votes than John McCain and it looks like he’ll be 2 million fewer, I would have been dumbfounded." In a Politico op-ed published online on Monday, Gingrich wrote, "For the conservative movement and the Republican Party to succeed in the future (and while they are not identical the two are inextricably bound together) we will have to learn the lessons of 2012." He explained, "An intellectually honest and courageous Republican Party has nothing to fear from the current situation." Asked on "Today" about what he wrote, Gingrich said, "The great thing about elections is they belong to the American people." He added, "I was wrong last week, as was virtually every major Republican analyst. And so, you have to stop and say to yourself, if I was that far off, what do I need to learn to better understand America?"
They have nobody electable. Not a single viable candidate for President in 2016. They need a new face. Someone with bold and new ideas. Someone like... David Stern. (He's available)
I have been listening to all the talking heads from both sides proclaiming what the GOP needs to do, who the need to "go after" and how they need to modify their ideals to get in step with "the people". For the most part, these "experts" want conformation almost in lock step with the Dems. They paint the tea party as "bad" the lib party as "bad"...I dont believe that a one party, me and me also style is good for this country. We are going to start to reap the poisoned harvest that the extreme left has sown. Their dislike for anything other than their opinion, reinforced by the media has them brioling to a frenzied state, and to hear them talk about right wing with such bile is becoming the norm. There needs to be a party to stand up for the values this country was founded on, to hold us accountable, reduce spending. To take on issues that may not be popular, like illeagle immigration, states rights vs federal gov..to move away fom the nanny state..tere has to be checks and ballances
Democrats in the US are many things, some of them bad... but they are not in any way Extreme Left. Also, weren't Democrats whining about the lockstep Republicans in 2004? How Democrats are cats who all have special little pet peeves while Republicans all think alike like dogs with a pack mentality? I certainly remember that.
hey Fez is not the extreme left, but look how he delights in being hatefull..very common, and the further left they are..well, you get the idea
Its not that there is no one electable, its just there are more people who make less than $50k a year that are more likely to vote Obama than there are people who make over $50k a year (who are likely to vote Obama). And with Obama's "success", this trend will likely continue...moreso if the illegals are granted amnesty.
