It is interesting. We might do nothing with the space and just give the rostered players a little boney check. But if this team is somehow near .500 and just outside the playoffs at the trade deadline; we could in theory take on the salary of any max player in the league.

If we're .500 by new years day, I think we could very well see that scenario play out.

Hcp said he would mow his lawn for a year and pay special attention to blowing the driveway. Would also take care of any crow problems.

This team will get better through the year I predict 40 wins earlier.

"Bright future" in this context means they can't possibly be as depressing as the Ducks.

    Newsflash: don't bet on it.

Is Crabbe legit? Can he be a starter for real?

Looks like a new player when his shot is going in and he has confidence. For 3 years now, we've repeatedly heard that he is a knock down shooter, but it never fully manifested in games.

But last three games, he showed us a smooth 3pt shot, a fluid one dribble pull up, and general smarts about where to be and moving without the ball. Encouraging sign is the lack of hesitation that was way too prevalent last year. He looks like a real contributor out there, and his summer league performance looks to have translated to preseason.

Looking at the stats in preseason so far: 24mpg, 65% FG, 58% 3pt, 16.7pts, 2.3 rebs, 1.3 ast

I can see Stotts placing Crabbe in the starting lineup and play to his abilities kind of like Wes. That'll also allow him to bring CJ (a good scorer) off the bench for Crabbe or Dame. It'll be interesting seeing which lineup(s) he goes with during the regular season.

I like this too. except for one unknown. When Dame has the D locking him down, is Crabbe a good enough dribbler to help out in those situations?
Other than that ? I think he has a fairly rounded game of offense and D and knows the system, so yes, he should find his way to the starting lineup I would think, especially if he continues the lights out shooting into the regular season.

To me, it's not so much about being a good dribbler. It's much more important that he's a good decision maker. If Dame is being pressured, can Crabbe move the ball down the court? The best way to beat a trap is to pass the ball quickly. Find the open man.

Agreed. Crabbe has shown good court savvy and awareness without the ball, but I haven't seen enough of him with it to know if he can keep it going with the ball. I do know we will find out this season at some point though.
