That will never happen. There are 10 million ARs in the US right now. Even when they were banned in the 90s, they were only going for $800-$1000. There are simply too many in circulation.
I remember after sandy hook they shot up to like 2-3 grand for a couple months when everyone thought obama was going to throw the ban hammer. People were paying it.
