Friday March 27th, 2014 Games To Watch (Games Updated Throughout Comments)- Portland @ Chicago Root For: Trail Blazers Reason: The win in Atlanta was nice, but it doesn't mean much if we don't take care of business in Chicago as the Trail Blazers have the Grizzlies looming on Sunday. And you know what they say, the first game back from a road trip is essentially another road game. Oklahoma City vs. Sacramento Root For: Kings Reason: Honestly, I just don't like the Thunder all that much. San Antonio @ Denver Root For: Spurs Reason: If we're to get out of the First Round, I want to see the Spurs in the Semis. That could happen if they stay No. 1 out West. Phoenix vs. New York Root For: Knicks Reason: A Phoenix win isn't the worst thing in the world after Dallas lost tonight to the Clippers. If you still have aspirations for the No. 8 seed, root for the Suns. But if you like Portland's position right now, root for the Knicks. Golden State vs. Memphis Root For: Toss Up Reason: Either result leads to one team gaining ground on Portland and one team falling behind. The Trail Blazers also play both teams over their last nine games of the season.
That GS memphis game is gonna be nuts. APRIL is going to be AWESOME!!!! Finally, games that will really matter! (I know they all do, technically, but it's really hard to get geeked up for a February game against someone like the Bucks or something...)
I kind of want to see the SA lead over OKC (for the best record in the west).....shrink. Get it down to 1 game so the last few games of the season mean something to SA. Specifically their 3rd to last game. (Against Phoenix) That is a home game for SA and we may need them to win.
This thread just got linked to by the Trail Blazer's official facebook page. Site is crashing now! Stats are going to go off the hook. More money for Denny (jk)!
Wow spurs have won 15 in a row? Now that's how you close out a season. Not so sure they are the favorable match up in first round, they have a great coach and a lot of combines playoff experience. I think I'd rather face one of the younger less experienced teams. I know we match up well with spurs but a 7 game series is a lot more intense than a regular season game.
I would saay so. And usually the first round of the playoffs the Refs are the best at letting teams play.
If the Spurs wanted to, they could win 50 in a row. They just like to fly under the radar, and pace themselves. They only lose in the regular season on purpose, I've come to realize.
So, I wanted to do a bit of math and just see what the average # of wins the east has against west opponents. The east has 158 wins against the west. The average team has just 9 wins against the west. Interesting, to say the least, the disparity. Granted, it's only 2 times a year, but still.
Thanks for nothing Memphis. On the bright side, a win over the Grizzlies Sunday all but assures no lower than the No. 6 seed (Up three games with seven to go)
