I was gonna go this morning to the 10a show, but I was kinda bummed about missing out on seeing QT last night.
I saw that this morning. If I was there I would have invited him out for beers afterward. And then tie him up and slice his ear off.
I plan to see it probably this weekend. I owe some friends and they HAVE to see it in 70mm. I view every Tarantino film like a fine jewel. He's one of few modern film makers who completely an auto - didactic genius. And I don't mean just in for like (a film makers stand point) I mean Tarantino could give you Pauline Kael - type treatise on modern film. Also, the mother f-cker writes the most original dialog this side of Mamet. Tarantino is planning on making only a couple more films, (which is sad) but understandable. A master should quit when the form passes him by. I mean, Kubrick only made what, 12 fillms? I can see him easily becoming a film critic or celeb blogger.... Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Ha ha! Humanity it still existing in 2024? That's a good one Sly. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Just got back from seeing it at the Hollywood Theater! 8.25/10 I enjoyed the absolute shit out of it. Not sure what the critics are bitching about? You go to a Tarantino to see dialog, violence and some gore. Which are exactly what the critics are knocking the film for. Cinematography was gorgeous. Music amazing! Best supporting actor and actress nominations should go to Goggins and Leigh. I've liked Goggins since the Shield and then on Justified. The Hollywood Theater is the biggest 70mm screen in the nation. I smiled when I saw the little circles flash in the upper right hand corner of the screen. (There will be some of you who don't have a clue what I'm talking about, lol)
My sister saw it in 70 mm on the road show. Her most interesting comment was that some people thought they were seeing a western, and had no idea who Tarantino was.
