OT The Home Isolation Thread- What are you doing?

Just watched this doc with my wife and kids....... very well done. Brought back a lot of memories or lack there of of my deadbeat dad and what he taught me about how to be a dad. I decided that since he left us when I was 4, I'd do everything the complete opposite that he did.

 

Detroit Lake today for three nights.
Meeting friends we’ve camped with for 50 plus years!
Hope do pick up a few Kokanee.

I wish you could give me a brief report on the state of Breitenbush, my fantasy of nirvana on Earth.

Did some hiking in the Olympic National Forest this past weekend

 

Camp grounds were closed where we were looking, so we stayed at the Sol Duc hot springs. MY 10 year old really wanted to do some swimming. They had 3 different hot pools and a 75ish degree swimming pool. Falls photographed were part of a 7 mile loop we took from the resort.

 

That reminds me of the Breitenbush river that feeds the Detroit reservoir which then feeds the Santiam river which flows through Salem.

 

Time to buy an upright freezer for the garage.

 

We had a relatively new freezer in our garage that had a defective frost free feature. My wife had to chip away ice every time she needed something in that freezer. I went to Home Depot and got the best frost free freezer that goes down to 20 below and it has been working for a year now beautifully. Finally got the freezer that actually works. The sales person at Home Depot was spot on.

 

Savants are amazing people.

 

Obviously this is grossly sentimental BUT I've learned so much about my kids, it's been incredible. And they have done so well with everything. I might be an asshole at times in here, but I really love my children.

That being said, I've been drinking a lot too. haha. Like a lot. And running. And writing. And starting my business back up and doing some construction for my aging parents...

This has been a truly awful and truly spectacular year thus far.

 

Propagandist, almost the same constructive things here with me, also.
I've been lounging on the couch watching TV while in my boxer shorts, drinking a lot of cheap beer and chain smoking unfiltered cigarettes. Occasionally I sit on the front porch drinking my cheap beer and chain smoking while sitting in a rocking chair and giving the finger to school children passing by the house.
What constructive projects have others got going?

It's a mighty big puzzle. Takes up nearly an entire dining room table. She's been working on it off-and-on for a few months. Almost there....

 

Your wife lets you tie up the dining room table for months????? Dude, she really IS a keeper.......
