IMO, he's gonna be like Bobby J. A very good back-up PG and occasional starter (injuries to Stevie). The only way I see Francis and Nelson playing together is if J.D decides to go small for a few minutes to either 1)Speed up the temp cause our oppenents are slow or 2)We're down big and we need some quick easy buckets. Hopefully it's not the latter. Plus, we don't want Nelson to be TOO good. Or else he'll be out of our price range once he becomes a FA. :thumbsdow
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting explosive:</div><div class="quote_post">Thanks...Dad. Jameer isn't going to contend for ROY...he won't get the minutes of course. But who knows? He might end up getting more minutes than you think if they move Franchise to the 2 guard a little more than expected.</div> I really do hope we put Francis to the 2 and start Jameer. I just have a feeling Jameer is going to explode this season and that's not going to happen if he's coming off the bench. Speaking of which, who is still coaching? JD? :thumbsdow
^^^ I understand Jameer, Howard have 3 year contracts. By then Hill's contract expires so I think we will have plenty of space.(I think). And by then, we will likely trade Gooden away... BTW, Francis is not that much smaller than Mobley(1 inch, 15 pounds), so if Cuttino gets injured/traded/struggles, Jameer could possibly start at 1, with Steve at 2 and Hill/Turk/Garrity/Howard/Bogans at 3...
I think if Mobley gets injured, then we will either start Turkoglu/Hill or Turkoglu/Bogans. Jameer and Franchise would get killed when they are on defense is my only concern with that lineup.
Jameer will probably come off the bench all this season. If we ever started Francis at the two and Jameer at the one it'll be another Gary Payton/Tony Parker situation, they'll be getting posted up like a poster. I think Jameer will resighn with the Magic when that day comes him and Dwight both. Dwight said he wanted to play for us from jump and I think Jameer is pretty happy about what went down with Denver. This season Jameer will probably average 15,4,5
