Olivia Troye, former aide to Mike Pence, already organized a roundtable with Harris and Republican women.

I think there are a lot of reasonable Republicans who will make the right choice.

This might be the most ingenious reason to pick him.

During an interview with the Star Tribune Walz said they named their daughter Hope because they had spent seven years undergoing fertility treatments before Gwen found out she was pregnant. Hope was born in 2001, followed by Gus in 2006.

Court transcript sheds new light on Walz’s DUI arrest
Walz had a blood alcohol concentration of .128 at the time of the incident, according to a court transcript.

Walz was working as a teacher in Alliance, Neb., his home state, when he was pulled over Sept. 23, 1995 for going 96 mph in a 55-mph zone.

“A strong odor of alcoholic beverage was detected emitting from Mr. Walz[‘s] breath and person,” says a Nebraska state trooper’s report on the incident.

Walz submitted to and failed both a field sobriety test and a preliminary breath test, according to the report. He was then transported to Chadron Hospital for a blood test before being booked into the Dawes County Jail.

    Lame.

Drunk driving is never OK. 11,000ish people die per year from it.

    That sucks.

Did Harris know this before she picked him?

    1995?
Agree no excuse for DWI but 30 years ago?
Not like he raped a woman in a dressing room and then pretended he never met her.

    …and he quit drinking afterwards.

people make mistakes. It’s how they respond to them that matters more.

Tim Walz is basically the poster child for the "anyone can grow up to be president" mantra. No rich family. No high-powered executive job. No built-in advantages of any kind (other than being a white guy). Son of a veteran and teacher who grew up to be the same himself, and didn't get into politics until after he was 40. Pretty crazy to go from social studies teacher to VP candidate within less than 20 years.

You utterly nailed it.....other than you failed to point out that Walz is EXACTLY what J.D. Vance has been pretending to be since he graduated from his elite college.......the real deal versus the poseur......Walz is the perfect counterpoint to Vance.
