I saw it in person years ago, it looked like the person who designed the stealth bomber decided to build a stealth sailboat. So sleek, so much curved wood. Really gorgeous.
We managed to get the boat to the shipyard Monday, hauled the keel today. I expect 6 to 8 days yet before we put it on the bay. Then a couple days and we bring it to Bandon for a week or two. Probably bring it up to Portland then for some Canvas work.
Pictures! Need pictures! So you going to break a bottle of champagne against her when she gets in the water?
Ha! Yeah, I didn't take any. It was about 4 days of asshole and elbows time for me, but others did. I will post them on the website when I receive them. I believe my brother has a little ceremony worked out for launch day.
MarAzul about to meet Keel in the Charleston Shipyard MarAzul the final assemble about to receive a coat of antifouling bottom paint.
Gotta admit, it's looking good. 2 months ago, I bookmarked your site. Just to remind everyone... https://sites.google.com/site/marazulles/home
New burgundy bottom paint clearly visible on the Rudder. The three blade folding propeller is almost visible in front of the truck wheel. The MarAzul was launched 6/29/15 in the South Bay of Coos Bay. The MarAzul one the left, her first day on the water. The masts are lying on deck, to be raised in the next few days.
