I think it's great that we have a stable of young, athletic, talented bigs right now, but something is gonna have to give.

Alexander - 19 years old (assuming we keep him)
    Vonleh - 20 years old
    Leonard- 23 years old
    Plumlee - 25 years old
    Davis - 26 years old

Vonleh shoots the three. He's actually a good shooter.

I think eventually Plumlee will get flipped for a wing.

I think it will be Davis. I think Plumlee is the kind of tough, physical, athletic center that all teams need.

I know. (Well, I've read.) That's why I said they're interchangeable and can both play inside/outside. But primarily I'd put him in the low post with Meyers feeding him from the high post. That's mostly because I've seen Meyers play (and haven't seen Vonleh play), and I'm fairly comfortable with the idea of Meyers passing and shooting from the perimeter. But perhaps as they develop Vonleh will prove to be better from the perimeter, and Meyers' post-game will develop, in which case roles could be swapped.
I'm just saying that if both of them pan out then they should start together, rather than trading one of them.

I think Meyers can be that player, too.
I don't disagree with you on Plumlee. But under the hypothetical that Vonleh/Meyers both reach their potential I think it's more likely we start them, and that Plumlee will be a more valuable trade chip than Davis. I'd prefer to keep Plumlee and trade Davis, but I think if we're eyeing an all-star level wing it's going to take Plumlee+.

I just see them both as stretch fours who space the floor and play the high pick-and-roll with Dame. That's the role that they've had Meyers in, and I think Vonleh will play a similar role this upcoming season. Conversely, I think Davis and Plumlee are low-post guys. They like to play physical basketball in the paint. Meyers hasn't really shown much of a desire or talent for playing in the post.

Yes, Davis/Plumlee are pure low-post players. We should definitely keep one of them. But I prefer versatility, which is what you get with Vonleh/Meyers. And I disagree that Meyers hasn't shown desire/ability for playing in the post. He's certainly not as polished in the post as on the perimeter, but he's shown enough flashes for me to think that he can be adequate in the paint. He's got a great touch around the basket. And he's certainly not afraid of contact like LMA is - he seems to like to get a little dirty. But the videos I've seen of Vonleh make me think he'd be a better primary low-post player.

Well, the beauty of this season is that we're going to get to see it. I hope Stotts will try a lot of different lineups and give guys a real shot to show what they can do.

Yeah, he better not yank guys off the floor for making a couple mistakes. Give them the chance to play through, and learn from their mistakes.

I wonder who would be the McMilliam "Batum sit in a corner... oh you made a mistake? sit down." guy for Stotts, if there is one?

I thought Crabbe inherited that role.

That's different. He got time as a starter and got to work through a lot of mistakes. Plus, he was the 4th option. Batum had to be perfect... and wasn't, and couldn't be.

I think we're going to have Davis as our starting PF for a few years, then Vonleh will take his starting spot and Davis will be the perfect backup. I think Plumlee will be the starting 5 and Leonard will float as a backup 5 or 4 or will be trade bait for a contender looking for a guy to shoot 3s unexpectedly. I think Alexander will be there for insurance and just kind of minor contributions. Maybe hone his game in the D-league some to get some more PT.

I think our playoff lineup in a few years will be:

    Lillard
    (FA all star SG)
    Aminu
    Vonleh
Plumlee or #1 Lotto Pick Center that isn't a bust LaBissere

I don't think Davis/Plumlee is a good matchup. I don't think either of them are shooters. Stotts no likey.

I mean... HCP and Canzano have a lot in common.

    A lack of hair...

An ego bigger than the Moda Center...

    Famous wives...

I could go on and on and on.
