and they went 23-29 the rest of the way if the Blazers are going to finish at 41-41, like that team, they should do a damn sight better job of tanking.
I don't agree with this AT ALL. Becoming one of the best teams in the league, a real contender, is a crapshoot either way. I'd rather have all facets of the team try their best along the way than purposefully lose in any capacity. Even if we tanked, we might not win a championship. I'd rather my team have some goddamn integrity along the way. I don't presume to talk for anyone but I'd bet someone like Dame feels the same way. Tanking is cowardly.
We did lose a big game to Nuggets that sealed our fate but it wasn't the last game of the season. The last game was a blowout loss to the Suns. I remember this season well cuz I traveled all over the country and watched 21 games that year.
Yea it’s all good. We need this lottery pick and for it to be a home run. We gotta slow start thinking post dame
Don't worry, when you play my-turn-your-turn offense, don't rebound at all and give the opponent open looks all day, then you are absolved from the burden of actively making that choice.
I just look at it like this. If we tank and get a very good pick, we should trade it or packaged it with one of our player(s) for some one else. Not sure yet, but lets wait and see who becomes the next disgruntled star (I just hope it's not Dame).
That would definitely fit more with Dame's prime time line. Use the pick as an asset for something else. We might get a sense for the direction depending on what NeO does with HWEC and KBEC. As for tanking, Mark Cuban was pretty up front with the fact they were tanking a couple of years ago. He uses assets to go get a Porzingas and then adds Doncic. As a fan, I'd much rather be where they are right now than where Portland is. However.... With the right moves (getting good pieces for Whiteside and Baze) and a little luck in the Lottery, a reset could happen almost overnight like what the Spurs did years ago. Of course they had Pop and we have Stotts....so there is that. Health will improve this roster immediately with the return of Nurkic and Collins. Add in the development opportunities for Little/Simons/Trent etc (if Stotts will do that) Get good assets for Whiteside/Baze Get a difference maker in the Lottery or use it as an asset This team could be VERY good just next season. That means use this season to it's full potential to help get you there.
