I dont really care one way or another what the name of the arena is. I only care about the product on the floor. Arena nostalgia is not on my radar.
Are Portland and OKC the only arenas with regional sponsors? Way to prove Portland is indeed small time
Somebody post all the names! Off the top if my head the weird ones I can think of The Bradley Center Chesapeake whatever Energy Solutions SleepTrain Quicken Loans Don't know if these are regional or not. What is NOLAs arena called? Sent from HCPs Baller-Ass iPhone 5...FAMS!
Bradley Center is BMO Harris (Nation wide and in Canada) No idea how regional Chesapeake Energy is, but it is regional Energy Solutions is across the Nation as well Sleep Train is Nation Wide Quicken Loans is Nation wide NOLA's is New Orleans arena
Was looking to get preseason tix for the game next month when I'm in POR and saw that on Stubhub, they're officially referring to the venue as "Moda Center at the Rose Garden." http://www.stubhub.com/portland-tra...-center-at-the-rose-garden-10-7-2013-4350721/ Must have missed this in earlier news.
Interesting. Moda Center at the Rose Garden sounds nice and would be a nice tip o' the hat to our recent history. "Moda Center at the Rose Quarter" makes sense. Because, it's in the Rose Quarter. Maybe they meant that?
Someone needs to develop a new rose and name it the Moda. Then we could have the best of both worlds...
Maybe it's like the court that's named Moda Center, and the arena itself is still the RG. Kinda like the WaMu Theater at the MSG.
Try seatgeek. They are showing two other sites with much better deals than StubHub. Season ticket holders get their tickets next week too. I think the stadium should be the MC RG with all entities around being at the Rose Quarter. Mc at the RG is confusing.
Unfortunately, the dates won't work out. I'm in POR from the 10th to 15th and no games will be played in that period. Thanks, though.
So we've gone from The Rose Garden, one of the best and most appropriate names for a sports arena in the NBA, to the Moda Center, which sounds like an ugly, generic, corporate conglomerate and has no apparent link to Oregon or the Pacific Northwest?? This has got to be one of the ugliest names for a sports arena in history. How depressing.
