It would have been the first domed stadium in the world. Portland could have had the 8th wonder of the world, and probably both the NFL and MLB. The fact that the Raiders probably would have left means nothing. With that stadium there, Portland would have easily been awarded another team.

Seattle probably would be Portland's little step brother rather than the other way around.

HAHA. I hope they do have a team and players go and gamble all their money away. With all the help they get and have available on how to protect their wealth wisley, so many of them piss it all away. I love it.

Vegas is great. Love it there. Would live there in a second.

Seems inevitable that at least a couple of pro franchises will be there.

Oh if only we had the NFL in Portland there would be no limits to the city's greatness. Schools, Cops and firemen be damned we wants some fucking pigskin action up in this bitch!

No I didn't vote against the Delta Dome before you ask. I don't really see NFL team making or breaking a city. It's city (size) "realness" that then gains NFL teams not the other way around.

Breaking (fake) news: Maloofs announce new addition to their Palms casino....a new basketball arena and team!

In all seriousness, I really wish the Clippers would just leave my Laker's gym alone :P
How many other great franchises share a gym with a team in the same sport? Just like the Lakers right? Lame :P

[Resident Laker fan trying to find stuff to talk about in the summer not named LeBron or Miami Heat]

Why is it always the assumption that schools, cops and fireman are the ONLY people to be affected negatively, and ALWAYS affected negatively when a stadium is built or proposed. Does every city with a publicly financed stadium ahev absolutely terrible schools, police and firemen? Think of the Children!!

And it's not like Portland schools are in great shape now anyway. It's just short sighted thinking and small town mentality.

    On that we can agree.

I'm gutted my home town and the city I love so much is so fucking unambitious. (Not just sports wise)

I dream of moving back one day, but I'm not sure I could stand it.

Ya, I think the whole "keep Portland weird" thing has run it's course. I think it's time to "keep Portland employed, and relevant"

Where in southern Cal are you?
