This definitely going to be a challenge. Short term, we have a very few healthy players. Webster has not been impressive. And we still have not figured out how to make the best use of Miller.

Long term I believe we do not have top prospects at the two most important positions, point guard and center. (I think we are now at a point where we can't count on Oden being healthy longterm).

Since we failed to find a way to move up in a draft which had very many tremendous point guards, I do think we have to go with Bayless, give him a chance to show whether or not he can be a top point guard.

I don't think we really have a lot of great tradeable assets and we don't have cap space so I don't see how we are going to trade for a good young center (if there are even any available), so maybe the idea of forcing Aldridge to be a center is all we can do. We do have the expiring contracts of Outlaw and Blake to try to find a PF.

I don't think we make any trades. I actually want to keep Miller too. We run with our guys and try to pick up a big body to back Joel up via FA.

How much will you bet on an Oden Hall of Fame career right now? Does $500 sound good?

I wouldn't bet $500 on Roy making the HOF. I'm just saying to give up on someone in their early 20s because they've had a torn ligament and a broken kneecap is silly.

I hope it is silly. I hope Greg becomes Shaq. All signs point to "no", but I hope it happens.

It doesn't make me happy. That said, I've consistently said that this team can't build around Oden, and I've been flamed for it for 2+ years. I'm and so sorry for Greg, and I honestly want him to be a SUPERSTAR, but I've never seen it in the cards for him. I hope he makes it happen.

In the meantime, everybody be sure to get their licks in for me "being happy" about this dark night.

There is no way Miller is traded. That would be us regressing experience wise and that makes no sense whatsoever. We keep him this year and next and hope we can land another PG as good as him after that.

What do we need experience for when we are not competative? Oden is the key, next year is his "year of growth" and by the year after that, Miller will be an old man.

I agree with Papa G that the team should not build around Oden. And I think he's right to bring up betting, because betting involves percentages; and looking at the facts (three major injuries in 5 years), one cannot realistically think there is a high chance that Oden will go on to play many injury free years.

If that's the case, then I don't mind being kicked for a night. Although I've been kicked for 2+ years for basically predicting this. I guess I'm used to it.

You don't build and offense around an injury-prone C with a limited offensive game. Seems hoops 101 to me, but then, I'm not one of the "experts".
