Great video man, I dig the career arch comparison. Probably one of the more intelligent and informational basketball channels I’ve come across.

Think Siakam and Collins will end up fairly different players in style but their impact is very similar as is their roles. Well highlighted.

That's about the same size as Aldridge was at PF for us for many years so I don't see 245 being a hindrance to playing PF. He will continue to add muscle and bulk up as he gets older.

Also similar size to Giannis, Blake, and many other excellent PF's in the league. The only hindrance to him playing the 4 would be his mentality about it. He's stated that he prefers to play center; I hope he gets over that quickly, because I have high hopes for the Zach/Nurk frontcourt.

Obviously none of us know Collins personally, but in my opinion that statement is being blown out of proportion. Saying one prefers playing center doesn't mean that he also doesn't feel like he can play pf. In baseball I preferred playing second base, but also played shortstop, 3rd base and pitcher in college. I was willing to do whatever helped make the team better and I would expect the same from Collins.

Yeah I don't think the weight thing is really an issue.

It's more that his skillset is more suited to playing center.

For what it's worth, Aldridge is a center now. Just like Anthony Davis is a center. They may play PF because they want to, but they're most effective now at center and the numbers bear it out.

I don't dispute that LA's numbers are better at C, but that may be a personnel issue as much as a skillset one. When was the last time Aldridge actually played alongside a legit center? In Portland, his best numbers were playing alongside Rolo. In SA, he's had final-year Duncan, Pau, and Poetl. Give him a center like Nurk to play with and tell me he wouldn't play well at the 4.

Also, Aldridge is quite a bit older now than he was here in Portland. There is a natural transition of tall PFs moving to C towards the 2nd half of their careers. Players tend to bulk up and mature physically , but also get a step slower. It is only natural. Collins is still young and has the foot speed to be a PF for at least a few years. I expect I big increase in his play this season as a legit PF.

I found no proof that showed Aldridge's numbers were better at center than PF as the majority of games to this point have been at pf but the last 3 years there just isn't anything to show that his numbers were better at center. He played center last year because Pau was hurt and then they traded for Poeltl so they could move Aldrdige back to PF. Also, seems odd to compare a 21 year old player going into his 3rd year to a player at 34 years old and still has played the significant amount of time at pf.

Although my post was quoted, I think this content is more for @B-Roy than for me.

I'm not saying he wouldn't play PF here or anywhere else because he would. He likes playing PF (this is coming from him). Just saying that he's better as a center.

In the same vein I'm not saying Zach couldn't play PF, he can and he definitely will, but he will still (probably) be more effective at center.

As long as we have a healthy Nurk, Collins will play PF.

He will play both positions this so I am not really worried. If he can stay out of foul trouble in majority of the games he should get 28-30 minutes a game between the positions.

I wish Quick would have hit that point in this interview. Didn't Zach call himself a C earlier? No mention here

I'm not sure which one of those has a more punch-able face.
