Obviously we all love what we have seen from Jake this year but we also know that he can't get complacent and that he will be scouted more and more. So if you are the Blazers what do you tell him to work on this summer? Creating? Isolation? Post game? Thoughts?

Jake has the length to contest shots. Right now he is over committing (at least he is trying) and then jumping a mile high at any shot fake. That should improve with more time, film study 'coaching' (did I just say that?) and experience.

I feel like it's eye discipline. He tends to lose his guy a lot, he then gets behind the play if the ball goes to his guy he tries to make up for it by jumping out of the gym to contest.

I think on offense side the ball he has all the tools to be a starter. Now he even starting to rebound better in last two games he had 8 rebounds in each game. There will be minutes deducted from players alright but it won't be Layman. Last he play the 3 and the 4 spot. Harkless Aminu Zach and even Leonard might see the minutes go way down. On Zach and Leonard I think it be what situation on the floor is who gets those backup 5 minutes. I still see Olshey trying to deal one of the forwards in a trade either Harkless or Aminu. Some why bringing up Aminu name up so much in a trade right now. The reason is he is expiring contract and now you got 3 players can play that stretch 4. Harkless Zach Layman and then if you keep Aminu who going pay in the off season Aminu or Layman or Hood if he pans out. To me out all the wings we Layman is playing the best and right the way i look at it Dame had more confident in Layman then he does in Harkless and Aminu.

@James lamphear ...."Harkless Aminu Zach and even Leonard might see the minutes go way down."

Sadly, no where do I see in there or evidence from Stotts that Turner's minutes will go down.

That true neither do I due to Stotts wants him to run that 2nd unit. But we will soon see what Stotts will do with his rotation when he included Hood. Maybe there another trade but it not Olshey demeanor to make whole sale trades at deadline. He will do one just it makes him trying to do something to us the fans. I think he should clean up this overloaded wings we now got. Anyway Stotts can't make everyone happy but it his job to get rotation down who going be in it and stick with and don't matter who ass get the feeling hurt.

I spent 15 minutes translating that. Tell me if I got it wrong.
    ---------
Layman has all the tools to be a starter. He's starting to rebound better, with 8 rebounds in each of the last 2 games. He played at both the 3 and 4 spots.

For Hood to get minutes, who might see minutes go way down? Not Layman. The possibilities are Harkless, Aminu, Collins, and even Leonard. In each game, 5 backup minutes will go to either Collins or Leonard, but not both, depending on the floor situation.

So I see Olshey trying to deal Harkless or Aminu.

Why bring up Aminu's name so much for a trade? Because he's an expiring contract and now with Hood at wing, we have 3 guys free to replace Aminu as stretch 4s: Harkless, Collins, and Layman. Whose contract is up for a decision in the off-season? Aminu, Layman, and Hood if he pans out.

Of all the wings, Layman is playing the best. Lillard has more confidence in Layman then Harkless or Aminu.

I remember there was a poster on here last year with a similar posting style. Now that I think about it, I haven’t seen him post in awhile. What if this is the same guy??

I've always assumed so. He thinks logically, just has trouble communicating. James Lamphear, you have good ideas, and please continue posting.

He doesn't have Hayward's playmaking, but otherwise they play pretty similarly.

What kind of contract is he gonna get this summer? Would be nice to get him on a cost controlled rate.
