Don't forget, they say he's only 15 (which may not be true...)

If he is only 15 (and hell, even if he's 18) he's likely to grow anywhere from 1-4 inches.

It's no joke. If you don't want to follow our guidelines go somewhere else.

Those of you who are judging the fact that he is asian or chinese shouldn't have any effect on your judgement. Anyone of any race can go to the NBA or can be an amazing basketball player.

I want to know, what the hell are these young kids now a days eating. Because there is a kid in New Jersey who is 15 as well and 7 foot.

But Yi has something for him, let him play his game, lets see what happens if he does come into the NBA, dont be so quick to judge. And true say, what 7 footer do you know can do a 360 dunk. common don't be so judgemental!!!!

Yi might not have the shooting touch of Yao but I believe that he will be more of a physical player if he bulks up. As for his age, he doesn't look 15.

yea true, but yao doesnt look 22 or 23. he kinda look like a monkey that came off the cast of planets of the apes. not to hate. i think Yi can be more successful in his coming future if he work out his strenght, cause of right now, d'ing up on ben wallace, he wouldnt stand a chance.

Shaq WAS able to do it... now, with his 340 pds...
    I dunno man [IMG]
Tho' the 360 in the all-star dunk was pretty cool... Even Vince Carter taught it was okay [IMG]

great story, its great how the NBA is looking for foreign talent. I don't know why people hate on him so much, he is just a kid, and he trained hard, I bet you in China kids train much harder than here in the US. Here is the US if you are 6'6 and in high School they teach you post up moves, and you don't have to worry about speed and dexterity, over there, they make u fast, quick agile and all that to play like SG, they also focus a lot on shooting, something we don't do much of here. You ever seen Yao shooting, like that Jordan move with the fade away on Shaq, he looked like a 6 footer. thats why they are good, they try hard, and they are very disciplined.

I bet this guy will be big like Yao.
And who said Yao Ming can't play?! He gets good points in his games and can play some fair defence.

well, if u look at the china team in the Asian league.... Most of them are tall. Including the players in the NBA: Yao, Zhi-Zhi Wang, and Meegke Bateer.

chinesepeople are not short at all, japanese are!!!! Theyre evn shorter than boykins and play like a baby basketball team in the us, japanese. But there are a few decent chiense players. Not only Yao Ming. But well we just have to wait, they re still not so good, partly cause if you dont play bball in a bball school you cant get to go to a pro team

Why are all of you complaining about this post just because he might be the next good Asian player? Any 15yearold 7 footer who has great moves will be talked about. This guy happened to be an Asian kid, so whats the big deal. If he turns out to be an All-Star some day, great. Maybe he'll be the next Bateer, you never know. It's fun to talk about what they might be some day, so why does everyone complain about it?

Well personally I wasn't speakin' on the fact he was asian...I was just wonderin' why people compare him to someone who has yet to 'breakout' or do anything significant as far as the NBA is concerned..
