Corey Seager in pinstripes makes the most sense to me and should be the first big move the Yanx make.
Austin Wells in the Arizona fall league: .354 B'Avg / .456 OBP% AT THIS POINT I WOULD PAY A TEAM TO TAKE SAN-SHIT-CHEZ!
It's looking like Trevor Story or bust. That said they're sitting on their hands while everyone around them improves.
Watching all the goings on today I was reminded that last year San Diego was making big moves and dropping coin on players like it was manna. San Diego was picked to come out taking names andd kicking ass. Instead San Diego got its ass getting their asses kicked. The dodgers rounded out with Scherzer who helped win a playoff trip end resulting in elimination and Max with a dead arm. The MMets spent plenty to get Scherzer but I'd be damn leary. Mets couldn't keep Degrom healthy for Christs sake. Cashman doing the usual nothing no surprise hhere. Watching documentary of the '04 playoffs last ninght I wondered while watching same as I did in '04 how George did not fire CCashman and Torre both. The rehiring of Boner was a most sincere insult to Yaankee Fans who want change.
I wouldn't advocate the Yankees spend the type of money being thrown around. But, you have to get involved with something. Tampa already owns this team. The Astros have owned thus team. Hell, Boston has owned this team.
That damned Seager deal should make Story a very happy man....if the Yanx want him they will have to over-pay and/or over-extend.
Yhe one that really pissed me off was the failure to keep the Bronx Tale Kid Velasquez. Liked kim from day one thinking he could gaammn well replace Torres.
Yup...I said that I felt the very same way when the let Velasquez go...the kid played competent defense whether it was the IF or OF, and was OK when AB and will only get better with more ABs, ...but most of all, he played the game with passion and enthusiasm...and he was also a local kid too. (played prep school in the Bronx.
SS Java Baez to Detroit on a six year/$140 million deal... With an opt out after only two years ! Tigers making moves and could contend next year.
Good read about today's non-tender deadline; Will Yankees non-tender Gary Sanchez, Luis Voit, Miguel Andujar? Here are the pros, cons and predictions; https://www.nj.com/yankees/2021/11/...uel-andujar-here-are-plusses-and-minuses.html
Urshela reaches $6.55M deal with New York Yankees; Domingo German agrees to $1.75M...Sanchez will be back. Associated Press NEW YORK -- Infielder Gio Urshela agreed to a $6.55 million, one-year contract with the New York Yankees on Tuesday, while starting pitcher Domingo German agreed to $1.75 million and pitcher Lucas Luetge to $905,000. New York also released infielder Chris Gittens, who plans to sign with a team in Japan. The slick-fielding Urshela hit .267 with 14 homers and 49 RBIs. He mostly played third base but shifted to shortstop in the final weeks of the season because of Gleyber Torres' defensive troubles. German was 4-5 with a 4.58 ERA in 18 starts and four relief appearances in his return from a suspension under Major League Baseball's domestic violence policy. Luetge was 4-2 with a 2.74 ERA in 57 relief appearances, his first major league action since 2015 with Seattle. New York offered 2022 contracts to the remaining unsigned players on its 40-man roster, including catcher Gary Sanchez.
Well, Boone is still here, Gardner will stay because he is a cheap hire, Sanchez gets his home runs every so often and the last three can be employed as NYC street venders.
