Good analogy--except it doesn't hurt a bit. In fact, it feels great!!

The scar tissue in Greg's knees are so severe that he'll never play NBA level hoops again, if he does he'll be used for spot minutes at best! He should go into porn and call it a career!

You expected all of the above people to be gotten rid of today??? I find that very hard to believe.

No. But I expected all of them to eventually go.

You don't think the three microfracture surgeries took care of that already?

It's kinda awkward that the guy who drafted him is at the RG right now scouting college prospects.

Well shit I don't know, we offered this guy damn near 9 mill this year! I think it's possible other teams may be as clueless as we've shown to be! HAHA!

We never offered him that because he couldn't pass a physical. We signed him for $1.5 mil.

If another team claimed Greg off waivers would Paul Allen get a few $100k back for this years salary? I could see a ridiculously wealthy team like a NY team claim him.

They wouldn't have full bird rights but could offer him a raise on his current $1.5 million, so maybe $2 million offer even if they are over the cap, whereas we were going to be under the cap and needed to renounce Greg to use all our space.

I'm ready to move on and be done with the mythical creature that is Greg Oden. Sooooo much promise only to backfire in our faces sooooo badly. Bowie over Jordan all over again, but Bowie actually played some productive games.

I'll remember watching you destroy the Bulls when we blew them out by 40 at the RG. It was only a glimpse of a future that would never come. This is sad, but it needed to happen.

Yes not to mention drafting college guys like Bayless, Pendegraph, Cunningham, Armon Johnson, Babbitt, Nolan Smith when far better players went a few picks later. Any one of us fans could've done better just using the draftExpress rankings.

Can't tell for sure, but I'm guessing that draftexpress' Jonathan Givony does more comprehensive scouting than a few NBA teams.

I'm not gloating. Because I still remember the lottery day when no one could get a post in edgewise, we were all so excited. The draft day cheers. The welcoming rally. So far as I can tell this was just shit luck, for Greg, the Blazers, and the fans. It's not like he was drunk or stoned or eating himself into a blimp, things that have happened to other guys. If sexting is the worst thing he ever did, I can live with that.

I wish Greg Oden well. I hope he has a back up plan, maybe he can become a really tall dentist, which I've heard he was interested in doing. It's a worthwhile thing to do. Time for him and the team and the fans to shake hands and move on.

It's a very sad situation. Greg was my favorite Blazer for most of his unfortunate career here. I hope he makes a comeback to basketball. He was amazing to watch at Ohio State. I feel like we never even got to see him healthy. Supposedly we could've had Garnett instead of Boston getting him, could've maybe had a title run during Roy's brief period of dominance. But NBA rosters are very unpredictable and the value of players change far beyond expectations. Guys like Steve Francis and Allen Iverson go from All-star starters to out of the league in a number of months. Yes overall It's kind of a weight off the shoulders to not think about Greg being a part of this team any longer.

Time to move on. I am glad the team hasn't given out terrible contracts like Theo and Darius so this should be a much more effective rebuilding or retooling process then the PatterNash disaster.
