At what point does it transcend a gimmick and become a part of the crowd's routine? It's not like it was a one-off gimmick. Here's a video from the Clippers series of the same chant but without Al Kapone actually coming out -

Phew, close one there in Oakland last night. You knew Jack would come up big one night when Curry and Klay were invisible.

Winner of game 5 wins the series?

how the hell does Marc Gasol win DPOY but not get on the first team all defense?

CP/Allen/Bron/Ibaka and a tie between Noah and Chandler for first team. Flawed system

I don't know. That is messed up. I think Tony Allen or LeBron should have been DPOY though.

Because the media votes for DPOY, but the coaches vote for the defensive teams.

That's the cliche but it doesn't always work that way. Think Game 5 Pacers/Knicks in 1994- Miller scores 25 in MSG in 4th qtr and Pacers win but lose the series. Or 2010 NBA Finals. Or last year's ECF. It's a 7 ams series. Not a best of 5
Who votes for DPOY and who votes for all-defensive? It could be just different people's opinions? After all, the coaches didn't even pick Marc Gasol to be an All Star.

You answered my question, thank you.

I think the coaches know best.

Tony Allen deserved the DPOY over Marc. I don't buy LeBron being given any defensive honors when the refs are too scared to blow a whistle on him though. How many games did he go this season without being whistled for a foul?

This is actually the second year in a row the DPOY wasn't a First Team defender. Last year the coaches had Tyson Chandler on the 2nd team as well.

Agreed, and even taking away the refs hes just not as good as advertised. His defense is kinda like when you're the last person to see a movie that captures the nation for a few months. You finally see it, and its very good, but it didn't live up to be incredible hype. I love stars who play defense so I respect him for that but I refuse to see something that's just not there.

I realize defense is important, but you have to have some offense. Memphis is not very deep when you have to rely on Bayless for offense off the bench.

Their defense isn't cutting it right now either.

Yeah because you know, he hasnt guarded elite pgs sgs sfs and pfs throught the year as well as centers on occasion.

Ask Derrick Rose about LeBrons D.

I believe Derricks exact quote was "its not fair thay a guy 6'8 260 is just as fast as me"

I'd say Memphis is deep. I'd love to have Arthur, Davis or Pondexter coming off the Blazers bench.

We really need to stop playing Dooling though. That guy wasn't ready to come back and play playoff basketball. The team was -7 in his three minutes tonight. He really killed us on defense.

Me too, as long as we had someone else on the bench who could add some scoring. No doubt they are a very good team, but their two shooting guards are not good shooters. Just think how good they would be if they had one more player who could come in and create their own offense. (And still play D)

I think Memphis has to win tonight, or it'll be really hard to win the series.

Am I wrong or did they not just make a rule last summer to prevent KD from doing that move? Then he gets a whistle on it with under 2 min left in a one point game?
