Layman, Vonleh and Napier are ballin' for the Wolves...fun to watch....DVP coaching there is showing...they look ready
I think he’s going to be a lot better NBA player then many guys selected higher than him. I realize they draft on potential and height, length, athleticism, etc is a huge deal in the draft. I think the IT comparison is pretty spot on.
Who's starting a game thread? I really want to beat Utah tonight. I don't really care that it's preseason!
The Buddy Hield drama in SAC is fascinating on so many levels. He reportedly rejected a 4yr, 90 mil deal and wants something in the range of 110 mil.
...I know Beal is pretty good and all, but which exec is he giving reach arounds to in order to keep his contract juiced and extended?!
well, CJ signed a 3-year/100M extension; 33M/year Beal signed a 2-year/72M extension; 36M/year I'd say Beal is a better player, so if CJ's deal is a gauge, Beal's seems fair
It’s a very good deal for Wizards. Surprised they managed to get him extended considering how grim their team is. He may still get traded though. There’s literally nobody on that roster who isn’t terrible aside from him. Jury still out on Hachimura in his rookie season but the rest of that team is just crap. Moves they made were ridiculous too. Give Ish Smith a chunk of mid level exception but let much better Satoransky go, come on now.
...I suppose that is debatable as to who is better, but yes this gauge makes it in the range of "fair" -- however, Beal does not have the playoff acumen nor overall success so maybe they think that contract is easier to trade so teams taking it on wont feel like it's just a rental
I believe when you sign an extension you are ineligible to be traded for 6 months (or 1 year if it's a super max). Right now we can't trade CJ until January 30th (not that we would). 6 months from now is past the end of the season so unless I'm wrong (I could be) the Wiz can't trade Beal until the summer of 2020. Edit: This makes Beal's extension weird in that it means the Wizards can't trade him and Beal can't leave this year.
Not sure who it was but I told a few people on this board last college season that Herro was gonna be a stud and they didn’t believe me. He’s got the shot and the attitude.
