OKC will not give any of their picks to trade him. He’s a high contract but also still a pretty good player. He had a good season overall, if he can get his shooting back to previous numbers he would still be a top 15 player in the league. For teams like Heat there’s really very little hope of getting a player of this quality other than via trade considering their cap restrictions.

There will be a team willing to offer just expirings to take him. I would even expect someone to give a couple of small assets to take him.

Of course it’s a done deal. George is going to LA, as you are saying they are probably trying to reroute Gallinari because if they don’t do it now they will have to wait a month before they can make structured trades around him (they can only send him somewhere alone without any other players or picks involved on their side).

    TRAIL BLAZERS ON THE MOVE

I've been covering the Trail Blazers since Rick Adelman was coaching, Clyde Drexler was playing and Bill Schonely was announcing, and I can't remember as much player movement from season to season as we've seen from our local NBA contingent this year.

The same goes for around the league after all the action at the trade deadline, but more on that in a minute.

Of the 15 players who began last season on Portland's roster, only six remain — guards Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Anfernee Simons and Gary Trent Jr., center/forward Zach Collins and center Jusuf Nurkic. And Nurkic will miss at least a good portion of the season while recovering from a broken leg.

Not a forward who began last season with the Blazers returns. Al-Farouq Aminu is with Orlando, Moe Harkless with the Los Angeles Clippers, Meyers Leonard with Miami, Jake Layman with Minnesota and Evan Turner with Atlanta.

Seth Curry, Nik Stauskas, Caleb Swanigan, Wade Baldwin and Enes Kanter — the latter who came on at midseason — have found new clubs.

Blazers general manager Neil Olshey has doubled down on the stability of Lillard and McCollum and the promise of Simons and Trent Jr. while providing the 21-year-old Collins with the opportunity to claim a starting job at power forward in his third NBA season.....

Fun fact: between themselves, Magic and Knicks will have 89% of NBA power forwards under contract.

KD ready to play in January? Cris Carter says it's so.

That would be great. Would make the league so much more interesting.

Other than minimum signings, they're kind of limited, I believe. The only salaries they have to trade are his and Lou Williams'.

If this is true then I assume Nurk will be ready for training camp.

I have a Clipper friend who is leery of Lou being effective with Kawhi or PG. Off the bench sure when they are resting. But not along side them. Not a spot up jumper in his opinion. Only effective when he creates for himself. He said he would not be surprised if he was included in a deal. (Only makes 8 million though)

Portland will be in position to make a run at George and Kawhi in 2021 hehe.

Wonder how Jerry West et al feel about trading away all those unprotected picks now.

So, it wasn't so much the NBA deciding to ditch the term "owners" from teams' "governors" as it was star players ripping it from their grasp.

Probably the same as when he made the trade. He knew what Kawhi was going to sign.

Then why are you always tryna trade for injury prone bigs?

Blake, Gallo? We'd still eventually have frontcourt depth problems.

The Blazers need to cycle from having potential cap space in even numbered years to odd numbered years. Even years talent sucks by comparison.
