And didn't they go to like 4-5 ECF's in a row?

Actually it was 6 straight ECFs.

    2 finals appearances.

    1 championship.

That was with 3 coaches: Rick Carlisle, Larry Brown, and Flip Saunders.

Yes, but neither Mitch nor Dumars deserve to be mentioned in the same vein as Isiah Thomas as an executive.

Besides the Pistons teams were pretty much all built by Dumars. The Lakers had Jerry West behind the scenes for awhile.

Dumars also completely destroyed the Pistons too... remember Charlie V and Ben Gordon’s contracts? Trading Billups for Iverson, signing Josh Smith... was a pretty awful drafter too.

Drafting Darko over Melo, Bosh, and Wade.

I realize he went down in a fiery disaster but he did build the championship roster too.

Like most GMs, he had successes and failures. Neil has given us failure and one sorta near miss. I don't recall him winning any rings with the Clips either.

By the only OBJECTIVE measure - on court success - Dumars is better than the majority of current GMs.

15 years ago, yes. I am not defending that he flamed out as GM but that doesn't mean he belongs in the same category as Isiah Thomas.

    Won.
    A.
    Championship.

    That outweighs everything you said.

Olshey can destroy our team for a couple years if he brings us to 6 straight WCFs and wins a chip in my opinion.

Also, the second half was part of a rebuild to try and remain relevant, which failed, but he still won a chip.

He has more proven success than most in this league.

Even mentioning IT in the same league is kind of dumbfounding.

Let’s also not forget that they ran into LEBRON.

What the hell are Suns doing?

All their moves look ridiculously dumb:

    • Trading down to take Cam Johnson at 11 (probably wouldn’t have gone before 20 anyway, and at 24 doesn’t project to be more than a decent rotation wing) and expiring Dario Saric
    • Trading up to get Ty Jerome, yet another project guard to bury with Okobo and Melton
    • Giving away a decent no. 32 to move TJ Warren, who wasn’t even that bad of a contract, to open up cap space they will probably not be able to do much with anyway, and then absorbing Aron Baynes to get Jerome anyway which makes it almost a moot point
Ridiculous. It’s like they are trying to sabotage themselves.
