Blazers have about 136M in guaranteed money....27M over the salary cap. They'd need to shed 35M to make a sizable offer to Kanter. Ain't happening by trade

since you mentioned the BAE in another thread, just so you know, teams that use the tax-MLE or room-MLE can't use the BAE

So at this very moment, what is the most amount of money we could give to Kanter? Is it over zero dollars?

So we can only offer min contracts now? Unless we move someone? It’s all so confusing.

a little over 2M...whatever level minimum he qualifies for

a trade won't open up cap-space, The Blazers are 27M over the cap

so yeah, all Portland has are vet minimum deals to offer

That’s why they need to trade Hark and/or ML for a PF/C

I don't think we bring in Bazemore and Hood if Hark was still part of the plan here.

I wonder if there’s a way to get involved in a Nets/Wolves Trade scenario, supposedly they are trying to land DLo in a sign and trade.

maybe, but I'm thinking Portland is planning a lot of small-ball with MO as the PF

    I don't disagree

maybe the Blazers can land Taj Gibson or Kenneth Faried with a vet minimum deal. Unlikely I know, but so was Hood signing for the tax-MLE

If they play small do you think they run more? That seems like it could help them a bit.

If the Blazers stay patient, there will be value available. As teams spend their money, there will be less options for the players. A guy like Jabari Parker could be a value signing later. Someone mentioned Derrick Favors who is apparently being cut from the Jazz? I'd love to bring back Kanter but if not, I think there will be viable options out there.
