Iverson took his team to the finals in like 2000 or 2001 with his big man as Dikembe. He is a good defender but he doesn't give you much on offense what so ever. Jefferson is talented, but so is Gomes. If they traded Big Al, they would still have Gomes who is almost putting up a double double right now. You pointed out earlier that why would you trade for a team that you know wont win a ring now. Well, how do you know that team would win one in the future? I would almost bet money that Boston wouldnt be able to keep all of that young talent later on in the years, because teams would want them that badly. The celtics would be a good team if they got AI, and I honestly think they could do some serious damage in the East. AI makes that big of a difference....<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (austingriz76 @ Dec 10 2006, 05:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>uhm...YEAH!! They would have two of the top 15 players in basketball, and it would be in a weak division. You are in denial if you dont think that team would be able to get to the ECF. Cause I just cant see any team without a dominant big man getting further than the 2nd rnd. I dont feel like debating over stuff today<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ballerman2112 @ Dec 10 2006, 03:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Why wouldnt they do sh*t? I dont think its because you dont feel like debating, but its because you realize you arent right. The East isnt strong.....it would be possible for Boston to make it far if they got an elite player like Iverson.EDIT: They arent going to be looking for expiring contracts. They are looking for young talent which Boston could give them....Gerald GreenDelonte WestAl Jefferson Ryan GomesSebastian TelfairKendrick PerkinsRajon Rondo Tony AllenThey wouldnt have to trade any more than 3 of those players because Wally or Ratliff would probabloy be traded.

How many times do I have to say that. And I siad a 07 1st also. And this sh*t is coming from MSNBC and several bball experts.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>On Friday, Glen Talyor said that there was no chance of Allen Iverson being traded to the Wolves, but on Saturday, he softened his stance. "I just think Allen Iverson on any team probably makes it better just because at any time, he's hard to stop," Taylor said. "You get towards the end of the game, he's a difficult player to stop. If you had some other guys around him and a guy like K.G. around him, it gives you some strong options at the end. He's a very unique player. A guy like him, (Phoenix's Steve) Nash, maybe (New Jersey's Jason) Kidd, these guys are very creative and probably would be helpful to almost any team with any combination around them. "McHale would have to find out if this is something Philly wants to do, how bad they want to do it. I would assume a number of teams would have some interest (in Iverson). It's not something you could just do very easily. (Garnett's) contract is so large, you'd have a lot of money tied up in two guys."</div>Taylor Now Interested in Iverson

Plus, they wouldnt trade their 07 pick anyways. Greg Oden has a chance of going pro and the Griz have a chance at having the worst record in the league...or close to it. I know Pau is coming back, but he is going to have to take it slow. Obviously if he comes back fully healthy, they wont end up with one of the worst records, but you never know what could happen with serious injuries like he got.
I dont think Oden is coming out this year IMO(the wrist injury), and if we got AI, the pick wouldnt be high enough to get Oden or Durant. And teams that rebuild(which Philly will) love large expirings, and 15mill with Webbers 20mill expriing next year is alotve open cap for free agency. And Philly would love a player like Mike Miller.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Dmoney @ Dec 10 2006, 03:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Philly would also love some of the young talented players the celtics have to offer.</div>thats true, thats why im not denying he may not go there. What im saying is I dont think him and Pierce will be a great duo(winning Rings wise). But Ive heard we would give up Lowry and/or Alexander Johnson
You can say that they wouldnt win a ring, but you are making it sound like its an easy thing to do. I would bet my life that if the grizzlies got AI, they WOULD give up either Warrick or Gay and they still wouldnt be able to make it to the finals. They would still be worse than the Spurs, Mavericks, and Phoenix. Also, I think his wrist injury is a reason for him to go to the NBA draft now. If his injury gets worse and worse, his stock may lower (which is doubtful) but it is possible. Also, the only reason he went to college was because he had to. Hes not staying for more than he needs to.
Philly doesn't need Rudy Gay at all, and Jerry West wouldnt give up Hakim Warrick. Memphis has just a good chance WITHOUT giving one of those up.
West would give up Hakim Warrick if it was giving you Allen Iverson in return. And I fail to believe that the Grizzlies would be doing worse with AI on their roster than Rudy Gay....Maybe in 5 years when AI is retired.
PHILLY HAS NO NEED FOR RUDY GAY!!!!!!! And West doesn't wanna give up Warrick cause hes the only insdie prescene Memphis really has, he has jumped from 4ppg to 16ppg, so hes clearly improving and we wouldnt have a PF to replace him at the moment.
Ok then, you have a zero percent chance of getting Allen Iverson....You arent going to get one of the best players in the game by giving up a 36 year old expiring contract, Mike Miller who isnt better than Iggy (wouldnt start over him anyways) and a first rouner...
Your being delusional if you think Philadelphia has no need for Rudy Gay... and there is no question that Billy King will ask for Rudy Gay and/or Hakim Warrick in any Iverson deal with Memphis.
