Man, oh man. Reading this thread is getting me off my chair. Hearing A.I will go to this team or this team. I hope he goes West because I don't want my Cavs to deal with A.I...lol
OK guys, as soon as I woke up today, I got a little information. Portland is now in talks, not as a recipient of Allen Iverson, but as a suitor to help with salary issues in a 3-way trade. Jamaal Magloire is the guy they are looking to include in the deal. Also, Miami apparently has inquired, and their latest offer was Jason Williams, James, Posey, Dorell Wright, and a 1st round pick for Iverson. That didn't intrigue them much, that's not exactly what they are looking for (two 30 year olds, a solid young SF when they already have Iggy/Carney, and a pick probably around 17-20. I don't see Miami being the team to get him unless they throw out a better offer. Also, nothing is really expected to happen until tomorrow, when signed free agents from this summer can be dealt (ala Mike James. Denver is also trying to get Philly to take on Nene, which they are not budging on).
If I were Miami and I were trying to get in on a deal I would throw Haslem out there. He is a young power forward that can take over should they decide to move Webber.
Ai wouldnt work in Miami, I cant see three superstars getting along on the court. I mean with Ai's 30 shots nightly, Dwades 20-25 shots and Shaqs 15-20, no other guy would be able to get the ball. I really doubt Miami will get him
This could be me, but doesn't this seem like the longest period/wait for a major trade to happen? Usually if some major name is about ready to be traded, it happens the next day. I suppose because AI is such a good player and potential hall of famer, and that EVERYONE has probably inquired about him, is why it's been delayed for so long.

Im pretty sure Pat Riley scares the other 30 GM's, he always somehow gets lead on these blockbuster trades.3 superstars wont be an issue especially with Shaq in the middle. Shaq yields a certain respect that you never see in sports, somehow all superstars leave their ego's at the door and become 'complete' team players, I dont how though. As a Heat fan, anything is allowed with the exception of Zo, Shaq, Haslem, and Wade.I got a gist feeling that the Clipps are gonna win him and will eventually let go of Livingston.
I guess I woulden't mind giving up Dwright for Iverson but I really want to keep Dwright I think he'll be a big part to our squad for years to come.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (LC)</div><div class='quotemain'>Not trying to be a major poop nugget, but is that source reliable, gregorius? I wouldn't take anything that seriously that came from there. They are attempting to get a 3rd team involved to take Nene since the Sixers don't want him and he's a BYC player which is making this harder then need be. There is good chance this could be Portland as the Sixers would get Joe Smith, Andre Miller (from the Nuggets) and an expiring contract from a 3rd team. It could be Jamal Magloire from the Blazers, but, I'm not sure.</div>http://www.ezekielbearsports.com/bbs/showt...5924#post505924
A.I, Wade, Shaq??Wouldn't work, but looks scary.A.I in Denver with Melo? Hmm, I don't see him going there, it just wouldn't work IMO.
It could work with A-I,shaq and wade because Wade and Shaq really don't care about stats they care about winning rings, and shaq would kind of have A-I in check. I mean almost every NBA player looks up to shaq like he's the grandfather of the NBA.

Wade is the star with the Heat. Thats why I wanted the Cavs to sign Hughes instead of Redd or Allen. It just wouldn't work. It sounds scary as heck, but I don't see it working out. Thats Just Me tho.
True, I kind of actually agree with you in a way, it looks scary but you don't know how it's actually going to play out untill you see it.
I love how people automatically assume that Iverson would demand the ball to be in his hands if he went to another team... it makes no sense to me. He has never played with another superstar player, so what makes people think he wouldn't be willing to give up shots and touches (especially going to ANOTHER superstar's team) when he already knows how hard it is to do it all by himself?Look at how he plays in All-Star Games... he's a facilitator. Same thing happened in the Olympics back in 2004, despite the fact that he led the team in scoring. He's shown that if you give him the right players around him he'll adapt his game. He's just like KG in that respect... we haven't been able to see how good he really could be because of the limitations of his supporting casts over the years.
If I were Iverson in this point of my career I wouldn't mind shooting the ball less for a ring. I'm sure thats really what hes looking for and he knows Miami has a great chance of that. I doubt we will get AI but I would really love to have him if he does come.
Balls and shots aside, The Miami salary cap would be grossily full. They cant really sign anymore high level free agents after this. Anyways, its still a scary trio.

Its a fact that he would want the ball in his hands. He is a Play Maker. He is not going to change his game for his new team. A.I is still going to be A.I, he is going to score a lot of points ever night. I don't think he will "demand" the ball, but he will want it when the game is on the line and he think he can win the ball game for his team.No matter where he goes, he is going to be the star. IMO, he is top 5 in the league with E's.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A source that spoke with David Aldridge said Wednesday that the Nuggets might be trying to involve a third team, the Portland Trail Blazers , in an Allen Iverson deal. The proposed trade would send forward Nene to the Trail Blazers, who then would ship center Jamaal Magloire to the Sixers. The Nuggets would send another player, possibly former Sixer Joe Smith, to the Sixers, and the Sixers would direct Iverson to Denver.</div>No way in hell this happens, The Sixers get RAPED. Allen Iverson for Joe Smith and Jamaal Magloire? Philly would riot.
