    Neither of those teams are coached by Nate McMillan.

    This made me laugh out loud, thank you.

    I defended Feltwin and Crawesome when they were here but I'm glad they're gone now. Those fuckers couldn't shoot. Lillard is a breath of fresh shooting air.

    he does that every now and then when you least expect it. Remember when he played for Indiana and they scored like 52 points in one quarter? He was a big part of that.

    The NBA season is nearly a week old, and Kenyon Martin doesn't know why he still can't find a job in the league. He helped the Los Angeles Clippers during their playoff run last season. His knee issues of the past no longer seem to trouble him. And he's even willing to take a contract for the league minimum.

    * * *

    Portland Trail Blazers general manager Neil Olshey was the Clippers GM last season when he signed Martin. He thinks Martin's intense side can be "misperceived."
    "He demands excellence from everyone around him," Olshey said. "He expects coaches to be prepared. He expects his teammates to compete at the same high level that he does. The one thing about Kenyon, if guys are not performing and are not as intense or focused on playing winning basketball, he's not reluctant to let them know about it. And I think that can be misperceived at times."

    Olshey said he was "thrilled" with Martin's impact on the Clippers last season.
    "We don't win the Memphis series [without Martin] and we certainly wouldn't have finished as high as fifth in the Western Conference without Martin," Olshey said. "His ability to impact the game by guarding multiple positions, switching pick-and-rolls, blocking shots and protecting the rim was an element we really didn't have and it made us unique. I was thrilled with Kenyon in Los Angeles. He was a good teammate."

    * * *

    I should add: Olshey's Blazers already have a full roster with 15 players. And he thinks teams needing to develop younger forwards probably wouldn't have interest in Martin playing a reserve role. Martin just hopes he gets a call from someone soon. :)

    I don't want that gang member around me! No thanks. He's a better fit for a team contending.

    So you're saying Keynon Martin is a done deal once we waive Nolan Smith? :devilwink:

    Time to cue up The Odd Copule theme for when Kenyon takes Meyers Leonard under his wing by moving in with him.

    Can Nolan? This is the kid who came into the game last night in the 4th and his first play bounce-passes the ball straight to Jeremy Lin.

    Take a deep breathe and step away from the laptop........ I can promise you that A) you do not want those two loose cannons around our young players.....B) We aren't making a push for the playoffs with those 2. Rather get beat down have a great pick next June and tons of cap space and move forward. Not bring in Ex-Cons that aren't that good anymore and finish just outside the playoffs with 41 wins.

    Both those guys looked good in the playoffs last year. We definitely make playoffs with them and we'd have insurance if Lillard or Aldridge miss games.

    This is a great year because our starters can gel together and we will hopefully have another lotto pick and some decent cap space at the end of the year. It might be a while before we have this opportunity to add difference-makers.

    A lot of people didn't think the Magic could win ten games this year, but they're 2-0. Even more impressive -

    J.J. Redick - 22.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 6.0 apg on 16-25 FG (64%) and 6-8 3pt FG (75%).

    Another interesting player of note so far is Rodney Stuckey in Detroit:

    Game 1: 1-10 FG
    Game 2: 0-7
    Game 3: 0-6
    Total: 1-23 (04.5% FG) in 28 mpg

    Stuckey should not be playing off the ball. He needs to be a PG.

    if our starters gel at all we won't be in the bottom 12 and won't have a 1st round pick
