Waiters is such a good combo guard, they're starting him at both backcourt positions.

Webster is looking solid for the Wiz so far. Waiters/Beal not looking too amazing so far.

Waiters 13 points on 10 shots in 20 mins. With 3 steals. Maybe Cleveland not totally insane.

Verajao has 18 boards in 23 mins!! Damnit, why can't we get him? Also 5 assists and 3 blocks.

Brand-Vince-Marion--DAL bench is like the 2002-03 All-Star bench.

I like this Mavs team plus Dirk. They're gonna surprise people.

I didn't think they'd be anywhere near this good. Then again, I think the L*kers are playing at about 60% right now.

Is it that the Mavericks were that good or that the Lakers are that confused at the moment?

O.J. Mayo, for one, continues to look like the same O.J. Mayo. He looked great in the first, got a hot streak going, and then continued to hack up bad jumpers, finishing something like 4-13 from the field. That will probably be the story of his season, as it was in Memphis.

Carter, Marion, and Brand looked great, but they're all dinosaurs playing in the first game after a summer's rest.

I'm just saying, I wouldn't infer too much from this game about the Mavericks.

I've seen all I need to see

I noticed that too. I wish we had picked him up. He played good tonight.

I hope they slip into the playoffs as an 8 seed... that just means my Grizz get an easy first round match-up. :pimp:

All kidding aside, Curry did look really good tonight. Based on his last "season" in Miami, you'd think he was done. He looks to be a solid backup option.

^He has missed a ton of time! How can he basically take a year off and he still isn't healthy?

That's a lot of money to throw at Curry's ankles. But the dude is the best shooter in the league, and whoever is second is a distant second.

Stephen Curry is my pick for the next big talent to get traded to a super team/quasi-super team. It's really tough to rebuild around a guy with chronic injuries, but he'd sure look good as a complementary star.

Come to think of it, in a few years I could see Portland making a move for him to play the Ginobili role on this team. Well, a guy can dream.
