What if you had a son or nephew or something that grew up to play in the NBA and they got drafted by the Lakers?

    I would disown him.
After he bought me a new house.

If the Lakers land PG/LBJ/Kawhi I might take a backseat for a few years and concentrate solely on my Raiders/Braves. There will be no hope of finishing higher than 4/5th and it won’t matter cause the NBA and the Networks that broadcast the NBA will want those 2 teams in the WCF every year. You think the Warriors get calls now just wait till the Lakers roll those 3 out. It will be hard to watch, most likely laughable.

Read what I wrote again. I said signing more than one max contract free agent per year shouldn’t be allowed. I have no problem with top players choosing to go to a new team. I didn’t bitch about Durant joining the Warriors last year. What I do have a problem with is several top free agents colluding to all move to the same team in one offseason and create an instant contender.

I would still love him. But I'd root against him. It's one thing to be drafted by the Lakers. It's another to be a Lakers fan.

I literally just said he probably shouldn't have a job anymore. I agreed with you, then you repeated what I agreed with.

Please don't repeat yourself, I'm agreeing with you.....

It's funny how you think I didn't listen to that song the day it came out. Used to listen to Ace Hood a lot my Freshmen/Sophomore ulyear of high school. He had some good stuff for my pregame playlist.

If Lakers complete this new superteam the league becomes even more pointless and heads in NBA must think about the way they can restructure it to make it work.

Max contracts should be limited to one per team. After that you are able to offer 80% of max to the next player, 65% of max to the third player and up to 50% of the max to every following player. You’d basically have teams build teams with:

One superstar (James, Durant level of player)
One borderline superstar (George, Irving etc.)
One star/borderline star (CJ, Oladipo, Love etc.)

The best team you’d be able to build would be something along the lines of Curry, George and Love. This would still be bearable. Occasionally two superstars would agree to join the same team with one of them taking less but never 3 or 4 at the same time.

And then just good players beyond that. Distribution of talent would become fair.

    Fuck no.

If it were possible to root for them less, I would, but it's not, so I won't.

I don't root for or against LeBron now, but if he joins the Lakers, he'll join my most hated list.
