He didn't get in because of his performance in the last 10 games or so. It's pretty simple. Out of sight out of mind type shit going on.

As a scared rookie, he was a great shooter. In his 2nd year, he 1) deferred to Aldridge, 2) used energy playing defense, and 3) was less scared/motivated. Now, he mopes around laconically, missing shots.

If Aldridge disappeared, and Lillard took the reins, he'd be great like his rookie year, when he didn't yet know that Aldridge is the Big Cheese.

Pretty sure Klay's 37 in the quarter sealed it for him too.

With so many guards to choose from I believe his month long shooting slump played a role in this.

But he does still have a chance. When do they pick Kobe's replacement?

I would like Dame to stop talking about how he's going to tear shit up when he gets snubbed for something, especially before the snub has even happened yet. I feel like he's too into this image he's developed at the expense of the actual mindset that makes it possible. Saying it doesn't make it so. Just shut up and do it, or shut up.

I agree Dame's 10-game slump cost him the ASG vote.

I'm sure he makes a shit ton more money if he gets in, but as a fan I'd rather he chill, rest his body, and get his mind right.

Also, it will be the crime of the century if he isn't Kome's replacement. Now that should motivate him (if he's not Kome's replacement, which he will be).

Not looking to pick a fight but I'm pretty sick of all the "At least now he will play better because he's pissed" talk.

It's pretty stupid on his part to say that actually. Comes off as a whiney bitch and shows more interest in himself than the team. If that's how his mind operates he's too immature to win a championship. Champions don't need motivation to play their best, and do what it takes for the team to win regardless of All-star selections.

Well, yeah, 24 year olds (or however old he is) usually aren't the epitome of maturity.

Yeah, Jordan never needed the motivation of disrespect to win a title.

Cept that he did use that. like, remember how people talked about how he couldn't hit 3 pointers when the Blazers played them in 92? How'd that immaturity work out for him?

Agreed. Getting snubbed for Irving on Team USA didn't motivate him the other night. Enough talk...just go play. Just about everyone with a brain realizes he's one of the best PG's in the NBA and deserved to be on the All-Star team.

Am I the only person who thinks he's playing with a bad back? Guess what a bad back will do to your shooting?

Just 7 years in the league. In fact, he was pretty immature until Phil came in and motivated him.

Sprained ankle, sprained ring & middle finger on shooting hand, & tailbone bruise. Dame is attacking the rim and finishing like he never has before - FG % in the paint is up from 47% last year to 56% this year. You can't say he's not able to finish at the rim anymore. But it's come at a price as his body has absorbed a lot of contact on those drives to the basket.

That's not why I want him to be snubbed. I want him to understand that nothing ever comes easy. The snub shows him that he must bring his "a" game every night or he will be forgotten.

Lillard is actually way more mature than Kobe or Jordan at his age. It took Jordan 7 years (age 27) and Kobe his 12 (age 30) to finally grasp a team concept. Lillard has already done it his 2nd year (age 22).

Making public "I am motivated" statements aren't a sign of immaturity. It's a sign of drive.

No, according to experts on here he's a selfish mental midget drunk. He's only thinking about himself and his shoe deal. He refuses to pass the ball and play defense. He's pouting all the time. He has ruined his reputation and the Blazers season by intentionally tanking these last 10 games.

I was wondering what kind of bull shit would start up after Lillard gets his max deal. People's opinions and expectations always change when a player signs for more money. I thought it was bad with Batum, it's going to be completely ridiculous with Lillard.

Lillard should be our biggest problem. Seriously, to think that he won't return to incredible play, or that he doesn't belong on the all-star team is foolish. He's probably the most clutch player in the NBA.

Blazer fans are some weird mother fuckers. Most of what you said is true.

I personally think he deserves more than max, same with Aldridge. Batum doesn't get a pass though because he hasn't lived up to his contract so far.

9th in assists, while scoring 22 a game is pretty amazing. He still leads the entire NBA in 4th quarter points to boot

If Batum was being paid $1 per game this season has been a disappointment. That is based on how he has done in past seasons, not on what he is paid. Some fans put far too much emphasis on performance based on salary. When Lillard gets a max deal and if his stats stay the same people are going to bitch and say he's not worth it. Same as Aldridge. "Aldridge got a max contract and his numbers haven't improved at all. He sucks!" Rolo is also going to take a hit from fans after he gets his new contract and it will be based only on what he makes.
