I don't think anybody would complain now if nash received the MVP now. IMO you're not an MVP if you can be shut down for all but three minutes of a series. Shooting 38% in the playoffs is just unacceptable for a guy whose main tenet is efficiency. You know what nobody's touched on? That when Dirk played center he played pretty well this series, he just played abysmally at PF. At center he averaged 24-15 per 48 minutes on 47% shooting. At PF he averaged 24-12 on 36.7% shooting per 48 minutes.

He just likes the perimeter too much.

Look at theirs teams, they would still be a good team without them, maybe not contend for the finals but playoffs. Look at someone like Kobe, nobody around him, and they still make the playoffs. Without him, lucky to win 25 games, that is an MVP............

The last 2 years were really heated MVP wise, but this year it seems less hyped. I say just give the MVP to Shawn Marion you know... hahah</div>Nash robbed LeBron, easy as that. 30/7/7.. no MVP? What a joke.I still think Dirk wins the MVP, he did better during the season and correct me if I am wrong but the MVP is all about what you do during the season.

That's a precedent, not an obiter dictum, and as such Nash, Dirk, Duncan, Lebron, Billups, and Bosh are the only guys who could win MVP this year.

Thats what the MVP should be all about, I dont know about the stuff you just said, but I stick to it that Kobe is the real MVP

Re: The official "Dirk is a choker" thread

Well, Dirk and Jason Terry are the leaders of that team and Dirk didnt shot up nearly at all this series. It is a very big dissapointment to see...Having the probable MVP have a TERRIBLE playoff series. Im pretty dissapoited.

Re: The official "Dirk is a choker" thread

This is what seperates Dirk from all time greatness. Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kareem... they all strived in those moments. Dirk doesn't. Dirk will go down as a great player on some great teams that just weren't able to do anything when it counted.

Okay, he had a bad series..doesn't make him a choker...if he was a choker the Mavs wouldve never made it to the Finals last season.

he had a streak of bad games....hes not a choker. We saw this with the Pistons last season...they were awesome all season long, but the playoffs they were tired. And considering the fact that Golden St. matches up very well with Mavs too....

Dirk choked hard....and the Mavs just couldn't keep up witht he Warriors "small ball" basketball....and they couldn't expose it either because they have no low post threats on offense. Don Nelson is a genius....
